20 years ago today, on September 11, 2001, 2,977 lives were lost when terrorists attacked this very nation. We will never forget the lives lost, including the first responders and even regular civilians who sacrificed everything to save others at Ground Zero, the Pentagon, and on Flight 93. As President George W. Bush said that evening, "Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America." Like always, our great nation came back strong and united as one. 20 years on, we stand for the flag and kneel for the fallen, as we celebrate the lives lost on that tragic day. We will never forget.
