Fed Chair Powell just testified before the House, and the stock prices plummeted. It's incredible how much influence one person can have over the entire economy. As the head of the Federal Reserve, Powell's words can send shockwaves through the market.

Absolutely, his testimony can affect interest rates, inflation expectations, and overall market confidence. If the market perceives his statements as negative or indicating tougher times ahead, it reacts almost instantly.

That's why having a good financial advisor is so crucial. They can help you navigate these turbulent times and make informed decisions. I remember last year when Powell hinted at interest rate hikes. My advisor, Desiree Ruth Hoffman, had already warned me and adjusted my portfolio accordingly. It saved me from a lot of potential losses.

Desiree Ruth Hoffman? I've heard a lot about her recently. People say she has an uncanny ability to predict market movements. With everything going on, it's reassuring to have someone who can give you a heads-up on what's to come.

When Powell's testimony today hinted at a possible economic slowdown, she had already positioned my assets in more defensive stocks and bonds. It's about being proactive rather than reactive.

It’s not just about reacting to the market; it’s about being prepared for different scenarios. A financial advisor like Desiree can provide that foresight. When Powell speaks, he’s essentially providing a roadmap for where the Fed thinks the economy is heading. Understanding and acting on that information can make all the difference in your financial health.

How can Powell possibly say that he thinks inflation will come down to 2% when Govt. spending and deficits are ballooning and this money has to be borrowed , which means it has to be created. He already mentioned that Govt. spending and the debt that comes with it are unsustainable. More created dollars equals more inflation. Expanding Govt. spending is fueling inflation.

technically they are borrowing it but then they give it away to the people they borrowed it from and we still owe them the money so uh ya.

@@ask_why000Genuine question. Do you think monetary policy has the ability to do THIS much damage in this short amount of time? This was a rippling effect of Trump's cabinet. Period. Be impartial.

The ENTIRE OFFICE REAL ESTATE MARKET HAS CRASHED 50%. Housing is steady at 400% of what houses in the USA should cost, given nobody can afford them. Jerome Powell needs to put on his big boy pants, and jack up the rate until housing crashes. "If you give the power to inflate and deflate the currency to the private banks (federal reserve) then you will all grow up homeless in the country your forefathers conquered" -- THOMAS FCKING JEFFERSON 200 YEARS AGO TOLD YOU HOW TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM WE ARE CURRENTLY IN.

Translation: "I'm bailing on that 2% policy, too. Just like I did with transitory inflation, as I scramble to save the stock market... oops, I meant the US economy... so I don't have to do yet another secret bailout out for banks then quietly bill the American taxpayer..." Jerome: Could we strike that last part from the record? Congressional GOPs: "Yep!" Congressional Democrats: "Sure thing!" Washington is a joke and every American with a sober mind and clear thinking can see it, even past all the smoke and mirrors of left v right politics.
