Guys, if you only grew up here in the Philippines, I highly doubt you could talk to him as calmly as you did. I even doubt you could call him on a first name basis. 😂 He's really down-to-earth, but we would call him Mr. Gary or Sir Gary and we'd be tongue-tied we would melt in his presence. He's a star here with a capital S. Seriously. You are soooooo fortunate to talk with him for almost 2 hours. 💖💕💖

I believe the point of the original commentor that wasn't directly mentioned was that the Filipinos are, in no way, obligated or forced to call people like Mr Valenciano as "Sir" or "Ma'am/Miss" - the Sir is tacked onto Gary's name out of respect willingly and wholeheartedly given because it is deserved, both as an artist and as a human being.

I can't believe I watched the entire video without skipping a sec. I would even go back to few seconds to capture all of your reactions. It's weird how this made me feel like I was with them, as if I was sitting with them and for a moment, have forgotten how gigantic Gary V is. I totally agree with him about filipino artits doing mostly cover and not doing original music. This is really what's lacking here in the PH. Tbh, I never even imagined him to guest on your show. Most of the entertainment companies here in PH would not let their artists just show up on shows nor interviews without charging an amount I cant possibly comprehend. I've been wondering if these artists like Gary V are doing this for free? Or not even free but like affordable fee. Because if it is, then man, sooooo much respect! It will only show how passionate these big stars are in sharing and exposing filipino music. And thank you efra and wale, your podcast is one of my most favorite discoveries in my entire life. I cant believe you're both only in your 20's. You can carry such good conversations and you sound way more mature than most older people that i know of, including myself. Lol. I really pray this covid dies down so you can come over here and i can have a souvenir photo with you. And i hope when that happens, you can do like a mini fan meeting where your fans can sit with you and get to listen to you both. Just the thought of gives me *kilig* I love music, i sing too but im nowhere as good as any of the artists you feature here and i write songs too that i keep to myself because they're not honestly good 🤣 I hope this doesn't come off as self pitying haha but it's a fact that ive come to terms with. Because life happens and priorities, ive forgotten about music for a while and have started appreciating it again after coming across your channel. Pls keep doing what you do. Thanks again and thanks also to Sir Gary for being so authentic. I've always wanted to attend to your shows but couldnt afford it back cause i was a working student and a bread winner of the fam. But now that all my siblings have finished college and have decent work, i can finally afford to attend and experience how it would feel like to attend a concert. Only live shows ive attended are underground live band performances which I am very grateful for cause these artists are amazing. Again thanks Sir Gary. God bless you. 🙏

Holy Crap! You got Gary V on the show! This man is a hero to me. His song, "Di bale na lang" was the first song I ever learned, I was 6 years old! I truly wished the man was my father, maybe my life wouldn't be screwed up like it is.

I think singers in the Philippines don’t really compete with each other or treat each other as rivals or they’re not insecure with other talents, they just want to make music and they know that if they collaborate with each other they can make something really special.

Cuz they dont have time to compete with each other and who would qualify to judge them whose better? It would be like an election favoring 1 with your own bias and someone would definitely disagree with their own set of bias that it would just create a toxic topic. If this podcast was done by Filipino, people would bash them from left to right waiting for them to mess up saying thats a common general knowledge in the country and that there are better questions they can ask.

Gary V is one artist that I respect most both as a singer and as a good human being. I am happy to find this channel whose hosts are articulate, knowledgeable, funny, genuine, and respectful.

😂😅 it hits me when Sir Gary said “when he hears the scream of the girls” Coz i remember when he was performing at Marikina we went to watch him (i forgot the occasion but i knew it was about fireworks display) when he’s playing Sana’y Maulit Muli with his keyboard suddenly filled with silence... then I shouted somewhere in the corner “I love You Gary!” Then He replied I love you too... then he continued with his song lol how can i forget that me and my friends died 😂😂😂😂😂... I love Gary V! I am a fan since 1986! I watched his concert once bec its free at Rizal park with my brother. Whio died last but also a bug fan of him. I was crying seeing him sings first time on stage..that was my first and last to see him live…as life was tough..but my love for his songs will never ever die. Totally agree...I've watched this video twice. And, it's just inspiring...you'll really get life lessons coming from what he shared about his music, personal life experiences and those whose lives he touched especially from his own songs. Gary V. is a Philippine Gem. Kudos to you Wale & Efra for guesting him in your podcast!
