I personally love what he is doing. I say all the time that you should not let any one brand define your style. If you go off of hype for your inspiration then you’ll be subject to wearing items that may not fit you personally. The price point of the new collection is a bit steep for me being a family man but overall I can appreciate the artistry behind the designs even if they’re not all in my style of taste.

IMO this collection and the brand in general perfectly connects dots between the streetwear and contemporary mens fashion spaces. It gives you something to wear that is more elevated/sophisticated while not compromising the proportions and “relaxed” structure that anyone who’s a fan of streetwear enjoys. With the ability to dress up and down these pieces safe to say they can be a mainstay in your rotation for a while. Also easily replicated looks if the tag is a bit out of budget.

I don’t think fog is dead I just think essentials fog has reached its peak hype. Can’t really see essentials getting any better unless they change it up. Fog mainline still has so much potential and really they only thing working against them is the price point which is significantly higher than other designer brands.

Essentials needs to increase the quality. As its become more mainstream, the quality has gone down which is hurting the brand.

Eternal Collection as I see it, is marketed as a very specific drop for the winter season, as noticed with a lot of the pieces incorporating wool etc. I think that he saved a lot of his new ideas and designs for 8th collection which he has confirmed is also near completion. Eternal collection is like The 7.5 Collection lol

It will never die. This brand is awesome and the hoodies are so comfy

FOG/essentials had it's time to shine; now it's the epitome of premium mediocre. Expensive fast fashion that stays in for no longer than a season. Essentials is straight up lacking in quality, there's no reason to buy from that line (even at 60-70% off) and the only mainline items I still wear from time to time are the basketball sneakers and I'll be completely honest, they're not even comfortable.

I've always kept up with your channel although I dont watch every vid. You def are a FOG fan and back in like 2016 that stuff was so fire. I did think he piggybacked off where things were headed during that time and succeeded. A brand like OffWhite and other stuff has an identity. I think once that particular style in 2016 faded FOG faded cause they didn't have an identity.

I feel like the Eternal Collection is a “bridge” or “filler” - I imagine investors could be pushing Jerry to put out things faster than he’s ready So this one is to appease the “board” while he cooks up his true vision for the 8th collection

The eternal collection is comprised of forever pieces these are intended to be staples in your wardrobe that you can use as foundational pieces and build upon. Each item in this collection is an item that your going to need to navigate through life, ie. job interviews, business meetings, events etc. At some point you have to grow up your wardrobe just like you have to grow up in life and I think that’s what we are seeing with this collections its elevations. True Luxury is not cheap although I took full advantage of the sale of 7th collection I don’t want us to diminish the value or relevance of this product by waiting on it to go on sale to support it. Because we don’t wait for Louis Vuitton or Chanel to go on sale to support it, so I would say if you have it support it now because these are investment pieces for your wardrobe. FOG is not dead it’s just getting started! I am excited to see it become an American luxury brand.

I would say fear of god mainline has lost its footing over the years. This brand now has just become mainly just essentials, and now, with this new collection, most people will not buy it until it goes on sale. Hopefully , the 8th collection will be a better direction

Considering many of the mr porter pieces are gone I’d say many are buying this collection at full price

As a 21 year old I feel like the FOG aesthetic has grown with me so it’s kinda nice, starting to wear less ripped jeans and more modern casual clothing that they’re dropping that looks more mature

I'm over the whole luxury/tailored/cozy aesthetic Jerry's been on the last couple years. His best collections to me were 3rd, 4th, and 5th collections. I understand that he's grown and diversified his collections to more mature pieces. But generally, none of this stuff is wearable in everyday regular life. Also, everything Jerry puts out these days reminds me of Essentials. I think he implemented Essentials too much in his mainline designs, which in my opinion, dilutes the uniqueness of the mainline pieces. Like, MORE hoodies and sweatpants in the Eternal collection?! It's literally the same fleece fabric, slapped with an appliqué "ETERNAL" logo on the back. It looks exactly like the S/S 2021 Essentials hoodie with the logo on the back. But with Eternal, Jerry is charging $695 for the hoodie, while the quality is the same as an Essentials hoodie. If I do purchase any items from the Eternal collection, it will be when the collection is marked 70% off, like they did with Seventh Collection a few months ago. That's all I'm willing to pay for some of these pieces now.

FOG Mainline is not for the average consumer. It’s not meant to be for you to wear everyday if your aren’t in a certain tax bracket. He is making mainline for Hollywood stylists to pull for editorial and events and for the tech entrepreneur that is worth a few million at 25 years old. Jerry makes that abundantly clear. At the end of the day, the stuff is extremely overpriced and although I like the aesthetic I don’t feel like it will stand the test of time without him making it more accessible to a wider audience.

Do you own any mainline pieces bro? Quality is NOT same as essentials AT ALL😂 thats what sets mainline apart, aside from the amazing silouettes. To me, it sounds like people still want that super streetwear style from past collections and most of the people that want that are the people who still wear dunks and jordans as 30 something year olds😂 about time people start moving into menswear more instead of the childish streetwear looks. I don’t think “modular” was the right word to use to describe essentials… but I think we get the idea. FOG definitely seems to have become repetitive at this point, maybe that’s just their lane but I don’t see anything “multidimensional” from them at all, really lacking that actually. Regardless we all love what they do and offer in that minimalistic/tonal essentials category, I think they pretty much dominate in that area but they may start to lose their exclusivity or hype overtime.

Most definitely not. The more recent collections are more transferable to everyday wear in various settings. I personally feel it's the perfect blend of expression from the 90s/professional/hip. I like the direction.

People have to realize the mainline has matured with Jerry over time. This collections is ideal for people who want the fit he is known for with the timelessness of menswear that can be worn and will be in style for a lifetime. I consider this collection a bit “safe”, but there is deff a piece or two I’ll get to add to my ability to dress up but feel very comfortable and confident on a daily.

The eternal collection is ironically, the one collection why will age the fastest, these pieces look incredibly bland, boring, not well executed, the lookbook was the first fog lookbook which felt uninspired, very blocky and boring, far too contemporary

That's the exact word tho. Contemporary. To me it sounds like you dont own any fear of god pieces. If you did, you would know how mainline things fit and the quality of the garments is amazing. Best collection by far. Things people wear on a daily basis. Elevated. It's great and its more menswear rather than childish streetwear.

Fog is def not dead. It’s moving away from hype beast culture. It’s evolved beautifully. Jerry has matured the style over the years, and many of his early supporters did not mature with him.

Eternal collection isn't for people who can't dress - it's not for hype beasts and logo lovers.

After getting rid of most of my fear of god and essentials stuff I find myself that for safety concerns not being able to wear loud logos or problematic brands at the moment so I restocked on almost everything they came out with this last drop. I’m really happy with fear of god I will never complain about them as they have literally saved me from stressing or having to look too much into stuff. 🤍🤍🤍
