It mirrors the attitude of Sylvian towards the human race as a whole. Sylvian is the Old Goddess of love and fertility. She created the humans, gave them life, gave them the power to make life themselves. But then the Humans turned their backs of her... and her love for the humans turned into grief, and resentment. And so the act of "showing love" is also corrupted in the Dungeons of Fear and Hunger. Rather than creating something new from two souls (parents and child) two souls are sacrificed to become one. "Showing Love" is supposed to be fun and an expression of oneness with a partner, but here its just for survival and this corrupts the act, creating a Marriage thats only strong but not much else.

That was my favorite part. The way it starts out chill with Levi looking spaced out, then jumps right into the body horror with the scope ERUPTING out of his eye and the barrel forcing its way out the mouth. As the cherry on top, the way he jerks and shakes makes it clear he's in pain.

Man, this might be the biggest whiplash I've ever felt. Like, I genuinely don't know what to feel. The portrayal of the marriage ritual is brilliantly terrifyingly... and then there's "POV: Cahara gives you a blunt"

Holy crap, this is great! It perfectly captures how it feels to play the game both good and bad emotions. The expression on D'Arce's face when making a marriage is particularly impactful imo. Great job

This is like unofficial trailer level stuff. It just completely captures the vibes of the game

Not only is this as hilarious as it is accurate, but that beat is dope af 🔥🔥🔥 I think my favorite scene was Cahara passing the J like "Hey, it's ok. It's a deep rabbit hole, man."

Seeing the game through the eyes of realism has made me realize there are a lot of funny yet dark moments in the game

I think D’Arce’s expression during the marriage clips will haunt me for the rest of my life. Well done. Something about it really brings home what Fear & Hunger exemplifies-the lengths someone will go to when they’re desperate for survival. To violate oneself to seal such a necessary fate-baring oneself to never return whole again, not even granted the mercy of death, but the promise of keeping what shreds of them that remain alive for just that little bit longer. And to top it off - the bubbling implies to me that this is a failed marriage (what with how “bubbly” it looks). These are the last seconds you see of her before she is drawn into a putrid, immobile pile of flesh, unrecognizable for the rest of her remnants’ excruciating life. The animation makes her so brilliantly human, pained, and _real._ I am absolutely haunted.

This is definitely the entire feeling of what encompasses Fear & Hunger. Really feeling that Enki moment, there's no way D'Arce should've been that freaked out, and she even had both arms to fight back lmfao.

The rapid cuts from Levi’s terrifying transformation, to memes, to D’arce’s blank stare during the marriage ritual, then back to memes, is such an emotional whiplash, but if perfectly summarize the feeling of the game! 👏🏻

This is absolutely perfect. You really did capture the games' atmosphere, and the animation and art style is wonderful. It starts off funny and continues it's comedic tone while gradually getting more serious. I also loved the way you added drama by switching between scenes so quickly. The Evangelion references were pretty funny, too. Well done!

I liked the abominable marriage's little dance as Cahara is landing on the moon in the background and Enki doing some little thing with Ragnvaldr

My phycologist said that I shouldn't play this game, but I'm a fool and will walk into a minefield hoping for the best.

The sequences in this kinda gave me chills withe the Marriage and the escalation of stuff happening from both games its actually crazy to me

I like how each playable character's depiction in this video can be taken as each stage of the player's psyche while playing this game: 1-D'arce and Daan represent the confusion, despair and the eventual desensitization many players will go trough 2- Marina represents sheer death and failure 3- Cahara represents the first strat most players will choose which is running away desperatly whenever the fight is unecessary 4- Olivia represents experimentation because how would you know how the game works without running over Marina? Or trying new things? 5- Ragnavaldr, Marcoh, O'saa and Karin represent the confidence you feel once you get the ropes and become braver and stronger 6- Levi represents the cosmic realization once you have mastered the game, the knowledge almost bursting out of your head as you implement your wisdom 7- Enki represents not giving a single shit anymore because you played the game for over 100 hours and finished both games about 27 times

This is accurate on so many levels
