I just wanna say it was really cute of you guys as parents to try to record and bring your son to all the firefighters. I remember my parents doing whatever they could to bring me to things I liked when I was his age. Please continue being wonderful parents!

here's one thing I bet drivers would like to know. If I'm at a red light and a fire unit's blasting his horn, does that give me the right to cross a red light to help them make it to their location on time? OR am I supposed to stay in place and not move?
@TripleJFire
2 ай бұрын
I tried to look into this because I’ve thought about it before and your comment got me thinking about it again. I can’t find anything! I do know that the rigs have a device that interacts with a sensor on the traffic lights to change their lights to green. So in most cases maybe it’s a moot point since the light will be green and you’d just try to pull off to the right as usual (which is easier said than done here!).

They carry foam, and to my understanding (and if someone is a firefighter or a real buff and wants to chime in and correct me, please do) also more/bigger hose, hence the “satellite” name as they have to go with an engine.

Ha, despite my videos in horrible midtown traffic, their response times are usually impressive! It’s harder to catch on video when they’re really moving. Now, I wouldn’t want to be in an accident on the west side highway (no shoulders), when traffic is at a standstill in both directions… 🫣
Are civilian NY road users and pedestrians ignorant, suicidal, blind & deaf, or just stupid??

Really nice videos. Before I say anything else, im 13. My age is important in this comment, your son’s name is Jordan, nice, I saw from the clip “Jordan, Squad 288!” Also you sound really young to be a father, im guessing your the dad because you sound like my 11 year old self. If little Jordan gets a deep voice around my age, tell him to let you know if anyone is making fun of his voice or laughing at him about it. I’m 13 as I said, 7th grade. I have a really deep voice and a lot of people call me an old man and shit, last night I was at my towns 8- alarm fire. I work as a explorer in Piermont, NY, I know the chief really well so I’m trained for big calls, as I said I was at the 8 alarm, I was responding while I get a call from my girl friends (regular friends) and I started talking to them in a sleepy deep voice, I then screen record and head out to help out EMS and later I look at the recording and they are making fun of my voice. I just said all of that just for a future reference.
@TripleJFire
2 ай бұрын
Thanks! You sound like a very mature 13 year old! My first reaction to this was: there was an 8-alarm in Rockland County and I didn’t know about it?! I assume there’s only one Piermont, NY! I can’t believe people would make fun of you for having a deep voice-or, well, I can because I remember how brutal middle schoolers can be. I promise most people get nicer as they get older. And usually when people do stuff like that, they’re jealous. I’m glad you sound like you don’t let them get to you too much! If you heard me in the video, I don’t have a deep voice because I’m the mom! I don’t try to draw attention to that because I feel like not as many people would watch 🤫 😂 Sounds like you’re doing really interesting things; I’ve never heard of working as an explorer!
