FDA hasn't reviewed some food additives in decades

Some chemicals and additives that are allowed in the U.S. have been banned in other countries over health concerns. Many of the chemicals and additives haven't been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration in decades. Ben Tracy takes a look.

Have you considered the fact that, when you want convenience like we have today, where you can walk into a building and they will have an abundance of food and water that can be stored for a prolonged period of time, there might be a price to pay for that but the price will still be acceptable compared to the cost of not having it? Imagine if you still had to hunt for your food? Or these preservatives were not present, how small of a variety you would have, and how much more work you would need to do to preserve it. The cost of the food would go up significantly for sure. So yes, theres some amount of toxins in the food, but its a cost for living convenietly. Quality if life is better when you can do these things.

Wait until y'all find out that the rabbit hole goes much, much deeper. And all you have to do is look at your food labels and google the side effects on the ingredients. BHA, BHT, EDTA, Propylene Glycol (AKA Propane 1, 2 Diol), all Artificial Sweeteners, Dyes, Xanthan Gum, Guar Gum, etc. Walking into a grocery store these days is like walking into a drug commercial, "this product is 'heart healthy' buuuut, side effects may include...." And many of these chemicals they add as preservatives are "GRAS" or "Generally Regarded as Safe". I'm sorry but when I read that I hear, "Eat at your own risk". Not to mention the effect all of these "preservatives" have on fetal and child development, and even young adults and on. And don't get me started on our water supply with Fluoride and Atrazine and the many others in there. Also take into consideration serving sizes, the % of what's in the food is per serving, not the entire box or container, and most people eat double or triple recommended serving sizes. Do your research people, when it comes to what you put in your body, ask lots and lots of questions. It's tedious at first but, you'll get to the point where you'll just know by picking something up and glancing at the ingredients and you'll be putting a lot of things back. A lot of these same "preservatives" are in pet food, cosmetics, shampoos, conditioners, etc. Apologies for the long comment, I could go on and on. Stay healthy, eat as organically as possible (and sometimes you can't even trust that), and spread the word. Godspeed my friends.

I only buy organic apples after learning that all regular apples in US are coated with DPA. EU bans US grown non-organic apples because of the presence of DPA, a carcinogen.

If you don't know if it is safe, why buy it? Parents are in complete control over their children's food, so it makes no sense for this woman to say she is worried about how it will effect her kids. FDA has proven it does not care about human safety.
