I know you guys want the best for me - so please don’t take this the wrong way. On the surface - getting more seat time in a mustang sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately - these cars cost tens of thousands of dollars to operate just a few laps. Building another car would be hundreds of thousands of dollars also. It’s just not financially feasible in any way shape or form - so the seat time I get will only be in FD. Building a lower level car would not translate at all. There is so much crazy custom shit in these cars that it’s like apples to oranges. Even going from the demo car to the comp car is a bigger challenge than the e36 to the comp car. It helps with vehicle placement, bur that’s about it. Chelsea actually has set these up to drive like e chassis, so you’d be surprised by the amount of similarities in feel. I appreciate y’all wanting the best for me - just frustrating to constantly have people suggesting something that is an impossibility.

It’s your first season in the car bro. You’ll get there. You’ve had what, 2-3 hours altogether behind the wheel? Think of how long it took you to master a Z. Your skills will transfer over to the RTR in time. For real though, have them throw an Ecoboost in your car so the power delivery hits like a JZ.

So much respect for the honestly and transparency. Imagine if last year the same issues happened with the s15, you probably would've been so much higher stress and probably made a larger mistake. RTR can suck a peen if they cared enough they'd get our boy Adam his own 4 wheels to rip around some local tracks. Adam keeps losing on easy a** tracks against easy a** drivers. I guess you get to a point where the money isn't worth the depressing event placements and you just retire from Formula Drift.

@@wyattsho There was a driver a few years ago that mentioned the cost of running a championship level car can be upwards of $15,000 per minute (total cost of the season divided by the time the car actually spends in competiton). Those RTR Mustangs cost a lost of money to run.

I think the most frustrating thing that I've seen is everyone in the FD Live Chat thinking that because you are big on youtube, you should always win and make no mistakes at all. I mean, there are other drivers (Rad Dan or Kyle Mohan for example) who are in FD for i don't even know how many years with full race programs and shops built around their FD career and still have won like 1 event in their whole career. And I don't see anyone in the chat making a fuss out of it. Adam, I know you probably won't read this, but I've been watching you for at least 7 years and FD for about 6 years from memory, not sure about both. You are an amazing driver, no matter what everyone says. Don't listen to negative people, it's only you and yourself in the track. Make it a fun one. For you and for us who like to follow your journey. Have a nice day man, don't stress!

Talk with Vaughn and see if there is a chassis you can get for the grass root comps so you have that extra bit of prep for FD comps! Worth a shot I'd think. Try a stiffer sidewall?

Chelsea's input has made the RTR Mustangs drive very similar to BMW E Chassis so there really isn't much point. It boils down to the fact that you simply just can't recreate FD level driving with 1000+ HP outside of FD, its not cost effective. He's got one of the best teams in FD there supporting him, if they felt it was worthwhile to have another Mustang chassis for him to drive he would be in one. Its probably getting frustrating for him to keep reading so many shortsighted comments like this...

For what it's worth Adam, I think you should invest in a new sim rig setup as the tech has improved drastically over the years. Plus all of the modding support for Assetto Corsa as well. I'm sure someone can recreate your car or already has created it and you can do as much testing as you need to without the cost of FD. Sim drifting is the only thing keeping me afloat other than living vicariously through others like you. Thank you for what you do and keep it up Adam!

@@coolieee sure thing guy, if James Dean and Piotr Wiecek use their sims and compete at a much higher level… I’ll choose the sim vs wasting MORE money on fuel, tires, maintenance. Vs a singular investment into a potential motion rig for that matter which provides even more immersion. Plus add VR to the mix? Unlimited track time.

And you're forgetting the level of tracks they drive on. It's not just the same 6-7 tracks with adjusted layouts or there lack of adjustments.

You’ll get there mate, i smell the victory already. Balancing your crazy life and do professional drifting is fucking impressive enough. Bravo 🤝

Really don't intend to sound like a hater, because I like Adam and have been watching for years now... but I'm just not as invested in his FD career this year as the last couple. I miss the JDM vibe and the S15. On top of everything you said I just want to acknowledge how awesome Adam is to his fans. A lot of drivers who lost in top 32 just packed up and took off as soon as they could but Adam (and collete) hung out by their pits and dealt with a huge line of us fans. Super chill dude. I remember he said in a video a while back that he's prettier reserved/quiet/shy around people he doesn't know and that's a fact but I appreciate him giving his time to meet with all of us.

Think about it like this , how many times have you seen rad Dan , dean kearney , Kyle mohan do the same thing and how much more experience they have then Adam . Yet they still do poorly year after year

If you're staying with RTR, it would be wise to ditch the other cars and focus on the mustang chassis. Master one instead of being good in all. Not everyone can be a Kyle Larson

his rtr drift car is barely a mustang chassis, literally everything is changed so it wouldnt make sense to just focus on mustangs

@@coolieee so RTR has their demo cars, basically a stock car with suspension changes and the same angle kits. Its not the chassis that matters. Its the NA motor and the wheel base that matters. If you don't know where the bumpers are, you will never fill the zones. I drive my truck 80% of the time, when I get in my camaro, I can't tell how close I am to curb or the sidewalks. It takes repetition, doing the same thing over and over, to be good. Vaughn only ever drives mustangs, all the other pros drive a very similar demo car. A E36 is no where close to a mustang in any way. Nice try tho lol

@@cliff4695 chassis definitely matters just as much suspension and motor , an s15 chassis with the same exact suspension with literally every component jn the same spot will still handle differently , and hes definitely said multiple times how different the demo cars are than the drift car which is why he doesnt like driving them before hopping in the drift car & , if it was as simple as him hopping in a mustang & setting up the different fd track layouts & doing it repeatedly, he obviously wouldve done it by now but he hasnt bc it clearly wouldnt be the same and a waste of time & he mentions the e36 because the suspension is set up like like one so the car handles similar to one on a bigger body(WHICH IS WHY HES SAID MULTIPLE TIMES THAT HE LIKES DRIFTING THE E36 SINCE ITS IDENTICAL TO THE RTR FD CAR), you cleary dont know what youre talking about lmaoo literally everything you just said adams corrected & mentioned numerous times but im guessing you know better than him ?

In practice he puts down some nice runs but when it comes down to the real thing he chokes. It all comes down to his nerves and not a lack of skill in my opinion.

No hate on Adam Lz love his content and been watching for years. But I love how he says drifting with v8 is basically cheating. Yet how many time has he lost in top 32?

@@bradyjames9253 it’s more of a chassis and how they drive issue than the power plant if you ask me. The rtr mustangs have to be driven much different than his e36 that he drives more. Also FD is a game of inches and there are really good drivers out there competing so it ain’t easy.

What ive noticed this in you Adam when your inside an RTR mustang you do super amazing in practice laps but then you go to the competition and you get idk i guess nervous or you adrenaline goes up and you choke. In my opinion you just need alot more time in that car to calm your nerves. Ask Vaughn to give you more car time. You get to comfortable in your bmw or Silvia but you need to get in a mustang with the same geometry and weight distribution so you won't get nervous in competition. Thats my opinion, just a thought.

I think, he gets to his head a bit much because it's on a bigger scale. He wants it to be 100% and it all falls apart. Being a perfectionist is a double edge sword.

@@_Mario_PL_ great thing about Adam is that he's a perfectionist as you said. But I agree that it might be affecting him when it comes to the quali and eliminations. He just needs to maybe lay back a little and focus more on the fun aspect like when he's in the E36 or the S15 in other drift events

Love too see it even though you didn’t make it past top 32 . Keep moving sideways!!!!

Once you get the formula down you’ll be a force to reckon with. keep at it. Been here since the first drift event and have only seen you get better every time .

I think the fact that the Mustang has more rear over hang than the BMW is messing with his muscle memory of where the rear should be. He says he came in a little too hot, but I think the chassis swapping so often isn't good for him, either (having to constantly relearn the car and all...).

The judges have been shit for years. They'll send drivers out in bad conditions and after 2 battles decide the conditions (that haven't changed) are too bad to drive but won't re-run the previous battles. Or they'll say the track is fine then Matt Field crashes and 30 minutes later decide the track wasn't fine and let Matt redo his lap.

@@ryanj1734 oh yeah I knew they were going to let Matt rerun the second they started doing siding laps I knew his team was up there complaining for him. It was funny I was watching the live stream and somebody commented right after Matt's crash and was like "whose fault now Matt". Then he getting run again 🤣.

you drive in FD, for Ford it doesn’t really get any cooler than that people get nervous, under perform, choke, etc you’re human that shits always gonna happen you show the best parts of your life here on a highlight reel through this channel so anytime something less than perfect makes it out from you everyone wants to jump on it and give their two cents.. you’ve made it man we’re not gonna leave brother keep driving

Adam i think you should start to build your own mustang for drifting, I’m thinking you use way to much of your personal cars (all different) and drive them more than your pro, it’s hurting you at the end in your performance, we want you to succeed.

Adam does way better with cars that has JZ’S in them, I personally think he should have done another year with the s15. Or should start drifting mustangs in klutch Kickers and other comps.

Maybe dude just isn’t ready for this level of competition like he or everyone else thinks he is. Sure his driving is kinda progressing but he’s just really not there when it comes to formula d.
