As a Penn Stater you got yourself a good coach. We always knew the day Brent would leave us. He was EXTREMELY choosy in picking where he wanted to go and V Tech is an excellent fit. You will have great defense, trust me. Best of luck Brent and we will miss you.

As much people hate on James Franklin, he really is a top 10 HC coach. What he's done from Maryland to Vanderbilt to Penn State is nothing short of hard work...he has continuously improved Penn State's facilities to top 10 level and wants to be at the top at a schoolwho paid Joe Paterno 300k year while others were receiving millions (Pry mentioned in his intro press that PSU has an Army of a staff now and wants to bring that to VT...Bama has an Army and Air Force of a staff and thats where Franklin is getting them all while Brent learns). Great hire! Go Hokies!

Also listen to any PSU assistant throughout the past years and they are all composed like this. Comes from the top down. We need to give him 10 years unless he's not improving but regressing badly. A few losing seasons won't hurt if he has long term plans (facilities, staff, etc) Last thing is PSU has stood for STABILITY...Some many schools never get or had but fired a great coach after 2 bad seasons and then spend years looking for the "perfect fit" which they'll never find. VT stands for the same.

The more I see of Brent Pry and the more I hear him talk about football and Tech...the more pleased I am with this choice. Like many at first I was a bit surprised, but now it certainly makes so much sense. Lets go!

Hold your horses...this could be a long rebuild as in what PSU (Franklin) has been doing when Pry mentioned PSU had an ARMY of a staff (not just coaches) and how much Franklin got PSUs already top 15 facilities near top 5 now after years of hard work. We need to give him and VT STABILITY like PSU and VT are known for. 10 years or at least 6-8 at the least to have us in CFP (we don't play in a tough conference anymore except occassionally when things line up, instead of OSU, MICH, MICH ST, IOWA, WISCONSIN, occassionally other spoilers) . Go Hokies!

Yup, Lexington High class of '88. As a side note, his football coach at the time was none other than Bryan Stinespring, who later helped him get the GA role with VT in '95!
