if I may put my two cents in this convo about crossing the line. I have only been in the fandom recently, so I'm catching up with stuff, FAYE has stolen my heart for obvious reasons, so I have focused on her the most, but of course yoko pops up around her a lot. now to make something very clear on my stance, I don't mind the shipping at all, I think they are adorable, and their chemistry is off the roof, so I GET IT! and if one day they become a real couple, I'm all for their happiness. what I find way too parasocial is the fact that they have both told us numerous times (since neither the fandom nor the press are shy asking directly) that they are not a couple, and that they are both single. Yoko even got a little mad at the fandom keep on asking her about it the other day. Faye saying they are sisters also and she has said multiple times again that she avoids relationships when she's working too much, single and not available is very possible based on the circumstances. knowing east asian entertainment it might even be into their contract to remain single until the promotion for the series ends (Faye, I know has some restrictions as well, people have gone to her salon and they couldn't take a photo of her or video due to her contract) the nice thing to do is at the very least believe them when they say it. imagine being in their shoes for a second, you say something and nobody believes you and they also think the exact opposite is true. also since the toxicity breached their privacy, and some trolls attacked Faye's friends and family, and called her a lair, I think it is time the fandom rethinks how they approach the shipping. Faye wont be shy to tell us all to F off if the fandom goes too strong with the bs you know, she has done it before. she's very protective of those she loves and cares about. and her salon people are not celebs, they are not trained for that kind of stuff, and Faye will not forgive anyone who dares to harm them. now on the matters of faye being affectionate, for one I think it's cultural mostly, but also Faye is really REALLY affectionate with the people around her. I think Faye was raised with so much love, that she's overflown as an adult and wants to give it all back to those she loves. I was looking up some older stuff of hers, and she was equally affectionate with a guy. they never said they were in a relationship (though he might have been the single dude she had a relationship with, until she realized fully that men are not her cup of tea) and they said multiple times they were friends, yet the press at the time and the fandom of both were going bananas over their affectionate relationship (it was the same affection we see with yoko now, and with others in the past, including the air smooching, the hugs, the head on the shoulder etc.) that guy once said that his parents would 100% accept Faye as his wife, and he wouldn't make her change her religion either, if she wanted to marry him, which is the only reason I think he might have been that ONE guy Faye had mentioned, but on the other hand I read some comments that the guy is dating other guys, so like, it's really complicated, but also shows that Faye has always been this affectionate with others. so yeah thanks for coming to my ted talk aHAHAAH keep on shipping, and keep it respectful
