Ngl, I didn't cry the first time I read or watched this....... BUT... I've rewatched the anime a 2nd time and cried. I've watched a hundred reaction vids rewatching the series and my crying gets worse! I never knew rewatching the anime would make the experience progressively sadder and sadder for me. Maybe I'm just getting old. You know, the older you get the more you are moved to tears. WAAAAAAAAH. I gotta say, after 10 years, the anime aged well for me.

one piece length doesnt matter as much as people make it seem to be. Each arc is its own story, while also being big part of the overarching story. Finishing an arc feels like closing a book that you know has a sequel. Each arc has its own new settings, side characters, structure, rising action, problem, conclusion and prologue. Its way better than how other animes do it.

I’ve been hearing this more and more but One Piece is the Odyssey of this generation

Luffy putting his hat on Nami’s head was such a simple gesture yet so impactful. Thousands of episodes in and still one of the top 3, if not my favourite moment of the series. There were only two moments where I got really hooked (the other one was uhh, when the show kinda picked up pace and switched gears a bit, no spoilers but people will understand) and this was the first one. Chef’s kiss! Keep up the good work!

LOL 😅😅😅. This made me giggle 😂. I was speaking from the perspective and trying to put myself in the shoes of someone going through pure rage and re-living a horrible trauma. If I had gone through the same thing Nami went through, and was able to think logically in that moment, of course it's not something I'd want to do. Nami branded her body with the seal of the person who ruined her life and as a child, did not have the capacity to process the extent of what happened and had to survive by setting aside any and all emotion. So now in this episode, Nami is an adult and all the trauma that she never had time to process growing up, gets yanked out from the very deep depths of her soul, sweeps the rug from underneath her, and now has to physically experience it all over again. There is no room for logic in this kind of situation, only floods of emotion and your body reacting in fight or flight. So from that perspective, Nami stabbing her arm or wanting to remove the tattoo with a knife, is fitting and a fair reaction from her. Hope this helps clarify my thinking and reaction a bit 😊

The first emotional moment arrives! Many more and even more intense ones to come. I think I speak for many that I've never cried more in an anime than One Piece. Had to have been more than 10 times and I'm currently up to date with the episodes. Excited to see your journey through emotional and epic times as well!

no you did not hear wrong! If I remember correctly, I believe someone mentioned when we first started, about this being televised to kids back in the day or aimed at kids when it first started. After watching up to this point I agree with you that the emotional complexity of some of the topics they cover, would def not make this a kids show. So I must have misunderstood

This is where you begin to understand what One Piece is.

I think that an underrated moment is why Nojiko got her tattoo's. It was to support Nami (since she couldn't tell the village that she was trying too buy it from Arlong, she did this so that Nami would know that she was not alone), who where tattooed (or branded) with the Arlong mark.

@@tobototoki Oda is extremely good at predicting how the reader/audience will react to what’s happening. In fact he’s so good at it that he’ll often have a character present to represent and vocalize exactly what you’re probably thinking. Pay attention and you’ll notice what I mean lol. thank you we appreciate that! ❤️ As for the sound, yea we weren't happy about having to distort the voices and was upsetting for us to do. We had the original video uploaded with the original audio and it ended up getting taken down for copyright because of the audio for episodes 35 & 36 😔. Hopefully we shouldn't have this issue again in the future but so far, our other One Piece episode reactions have been good with the sound!

Yea unfortunately we had to distort the audio to this method. We got copyrighted with our original video that had the original audio. KZread was flagging all of episode 35 and 36 so this is the only way it let it pass in the reupload 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m sorry to say this but the chipmunk voices in the videos are way too distracting to me, and it really undermines the serious moments like these episodes. I know you guys have to do things like that to avoid copyright but in my opinion, I’d rather it be muted than hear those squeaky voices. Other than that, great reaction!

Yea we weren't happy about this method of editing either. We had uploaded this video with the original audio and got a copyright check about 2 days later and the video got taken down. This was the only way it would pass through the checks to re-upload unfortunately, so we had to distort the audio and lower it quite a bit. It was pretty random as we haven't had issues with our other One piece reactions. Either way, thanks for engaging with us and hope you enjoy the journey with other reactors even if it's not us. The story so far is awesome!

The algorithm checks can be pretty random sometimes because you can have the same exact editing as someone else, but you get flagged and they don't. But that's the nature of the youtube beast! haha

Unfortunately our previous upload with regular audio got copyrighted for basically all of ep 35&36 and got taken down. This edit was the only thing that worked unfortunately for us to be able to reupload. It was very upsetting 😔

@@Afik710 I understand why you would ask them for reactions to more animes, but I believe that it would be a very bad move on their part, because they don't seem to have the time to dedicate to so many anime, Maybe if the channel takes off, they will be able to do it, but at the moment, I think it is better that they focus in 2 or 3 animes at a time
