    I don't think I'm gonna go this route for my front door glass but I just wanted to let you know I so appreciate your light, your positive energy, and your humor. I LOL'd almost immediately I needed that. I hope your day is a bright one and wish you nothing but joy, love and light in this journey of life.

    Goodwill, yard sales etc have an abundance of framed pictures from 25 cents on up. You can remove the existing picture/art work and use the glass and frame! Cheaper way to do it!

    I've just done my own windows and I'm so happy with the results, and it's even more budget friendly than your method. You can make your own glass paints by mixing acrylic paint into elmer's clear glue..just a little paint to keep the colours translucent but you can experiment. for the lead lines i used "Tulip' Slick' black dimensional fabric paint, which comes in ready to squeeze little bottles that go a surprisingly long way. And boy does it stick! it doesn't come off and you can easily do curved patterns this way.

    Nice Mister Larrie - gallery glass is also a very fun group event thing. You can pull black and white templates of just about anything off the internet, lay them behind a piece of parchment paper, apply the leading, dry, add color to paint in picture, dry and EH VOILA! You have instant window clings. Lots of fun and a great way to add seasonal touches.

    I just ordered some gallery glass paints and can’t wait for them to arrive. I am not at all artistic, I can’t even draw a decent stick figure. I have been looking for coral reef patterns but haven’t found any ones I like and I need something big for the huge windows in my master bath. Seeing the sun catcher gave me the idea to maybe get some of those…I still need to look at some…make them then put them under the glass and use several different ones as a pattern. I’m going to use some old picture frame glass to practice with. Thank you for the inspiration. If you haven’t already look at videos of the gallery glass, once it is dried…YOU CAN PEEL IT OFF and it is sticky and you can do so many things with it, you can make a design on a piece of glass, let it dry for several days and peel, it off and stick it to a window, a vase, pretty much anything, you can make seasonal designs and take them down and store them in ziplock type bags. If you make a mistake or don’t like the way part of it turned out you can use a razor blade and cut out. The first video I saw about it was from plaid crafts, it’s an hour and a half long video but so informative and inspiring and gave me the confidence to try it and you’ve reinforced it. I am subscribing for more inspiration to be crafty. .

It's not the same but it's super easy to pick up and once you get the hang of it you can make a hat in a hour or two. For knitting knitting, I'd suggest learning to knit with chunky wool and thick needles, so that you can really see what you're doing and learn the techniques.

    How do you think this would do if working on glass that is vertical? I want to do a few small panes of an interior door. Is the paint thick enough to stay put and not run down and puddle at the bottom of the pane? Worst case, I would have to take the door off and lay it down flat on sawhorses in the middle of the living room! I'm thinking of borrowing your craftsman design, my house is a hundred y. o. bungalow. Thanks for a great vid.

  • @MisterLarrie

    @MisterLarrie

    It looks really great actually - there is no bleeding or anything happening on mine. The back side shows the lines as blacker and more glossy-looking (against the glass) which could be desirable, but I prefer the softer, grayer look of the front!
