Hello, creative friends! Welcome back to another exciting edition of Wind Down Wednesday with Kirk and Britney from Heat Transfer Warehouse. This month, we have a special treat lined up for you as we dive into projects perfect for Father’s Day and Pride Month, all while keeping your budget in mind.
Recap of Last Month and Upcoming Celebrations
Time flies when you’re having fun, and it’s hard to believe a month has passed since our last session. Last time, we focused on Mother’s Day; today, we’re turning our attention to Father’s Day and Pride. Plus, with Memorial Day around the corner, we took a moment to honor those who have fallen. Thank you to everyone who joins us in remembering and celebrating these important days.
Britney’s Father’s Day on a Budget
Britney kicked things off by showcasing her fantastic budget-friendly Father’s Day gifts, using items from our new $5 Deals tab. As someone with three dads, Britney knows the importance of making thoughtful, affordable gifts. Her first project was a classic yet fun BBQ apron made with puff vinyl, giving it a unique texture and personalized flair. Puff vinyl not only adds a fun, raised texture but also makes for easy weeding.
Next up, Britney personalized drinkware using pressure-sensitive vinyl and sublimation blanks. She showed how to create adorable, custom koozies featuring a cute dog face and fun phrases like “Papa I woof you.” These gifts are perfect for any dog dad out there!
Kirk’s Pride Project
Kirk brought a vibrant energy to the session with his Pride t-shirt project. Using multiple layers of Siser EasyWeed, he crafted a colorful, eye-catching design. Kirk highlighted the importance of pressing each layer separately and explained his trick of pre-warming the weeding sheet on the heat press for better weeding results. His Pride shirt looked fantastic and demonstrated the versatility and layering potential of Siser EasyWeed vinyl.
Crafting Conversations and Dad Jokes Galore
Our live sessions are not just about crafting; they’re also about community and fun. We had viewers from all over the globe, including France and Nigeria, sharing their excitement and locations. The highlight of the chat was undoubtedly the slew of dad jokes shared by our audience. Here are a few of our favorites:
Tamara’s Son: Where does a dad keep his information? On a database.
Rocky Times Two: What concert costs only 45 cents? 50 Cent featuring Nickelback.
Dolores: Why did the old man fall down the well? He couldn’t see that well.
Tamara’s son’s joke about the database won our hearts and a $50 store credit for its clever play on words.
Gallery Wall Art with Sublimation Photo Panels
As Kirk wrapped up his Pride shirt, Britney introduced an impromptu bonus project: creating a gallery wall with sublimation photo panels. These affordable panels are perfect for personalizing and make wonderful gifts. Britney showed how to print and press beautiful photos, transforming them into striking wall art. With panels costing around $6 each and a retail value up to $45, this project offers excellent profit margins for resellers.
