I`ve just heard it! Five seconds into the song I had choked-up with a huge lump in my throat, and by the end of it I was sobbing like a baby with tears rolling down my cheeks! Beautiful!!!

This is one of the few situations, where Simon was kind and not mocking! He managed to even melt the heart of the sarcastic beast!

Priests are real people too. You could literally see God was with him in his performance.

The greatest compliment a singer can have is if nobody claps for several seconds after you're done. He deserved it.

I love how at the end there is the silence from the crowd. They were so truly mesmerized by his passion.

Nothing more Irish than that!!! Maybe some day he writes another pray like "amazing grace" He honor's God and humanity

If I had a priest like him I would return to the Catholic Church lol. I saw the wedding song video of 4 years previously. He rewrote the Hallelujah song for the occasion. Sang it beautifully with an Irish twinkle in his eye.

Ginny, can I say something to you - please return to the Catholic Church, for it is Christ Jesus who is Lord of the heavens and the earth and it is he alone who sent forth Fr Kelly to bring you back. The Church isn't about Fr Kelly (a wonderful man that he is) or any other Priest - the Church is about Christ. Peace be with you.

@@Peter-kl8jg Thank you Peter for your concern. The only reason that I left the Catholic Church was that to me the theology of the Baptist Church is closer to what Scripture says. I do miss the beauty of Mass , especially when it was in Latin. It is a beautiful way to receive Our Lord. However I see no need to confess my sins to a priest and get his absolution to receive communion. As a small child I could think of no sin to confess so I made them up. I lied. Would say I disrespected my parents or stole something. In reality I was shy and timid and would not have dared. The irony I guess is that I did "sin" by lying and that bothered me a bit. That's just a small example of when and how I disagree with the church's teachings. As an adult I studied and compared the churches doctrines and came to my conclusion. I have no animosity toward the church. My sister is a nun and she has my utmost respect. Again, thank you and God bless you and yours. I believe that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. My earlier comment was made with a light heart. I love that priest.

Beautiful, isn't it? I'm a vocalist and guitarist worship leader in an actually pretty conservative denomination of Christian (which is why it may be odd to hear this next part) and I am never more ministered to than hearing the congregation sing and actually feel the words. Because of so PTSD gained in the past few years, I haven't lead a song in over 4 years and I'm wavering because of it. It has nothing to do with being up front and leading songs (I'm actually rather shy and I'd rather sing harmony and hide behind my guitar than be the lead.😅 Let someone else do the talking. 🤣), it's that moment when I hear the whole congregation singing and I step back from the mic and just softly play the guitar and everyone gets louder and louder as accompaniment gets quiter and I eventually stop playing my guitar and just absolutely bathe in the sound of what it must be like to imagine angels singing acapella. That's when it feels like heaven on earth. That's when it feels like home.😊 music can move anyone in the most amazing ways. Even if their deaf!

That moment of silence was pure respect. And this song hit me right out of the blue and straight into the heart. Because he put his heart and soul into that song.

I’m a Catholic, and a young woman who has struggled with depression, anxiety and even deeper darker moments that I don’t wish to publish at the moment… this song, sung by such a man, that I have happened to have stumbled on today brought me to tears and dare I even say, sparked joyful hope in me ❤️❤️❤️ God bless you Father!!! By sharing your astonishing talent you have unknowingly made a difference not only in my life but in many others I am sure. And THAT is how beautifully God works through devout men such as this man

There is something transcendental about this man. I cannot imagine that there is a human heart anywhere on this Earth that he cannot touch with the love that emanates from him.

I loved how Father Ray said each person’s name as he spoke to them - a personal and very human connection with each one. I have a feeling he does this with everyone he deals with. This song came out at the time my husband passed away. My daughter was taking it bad and this song used to make her cry. It always reminds me of him. Love this version. Beautiful voice. God bless you.

Ive loved this song for years, but always saw it as a little dark, everyone hurts, everyone cries, everyone is a little bit depressed. Today with him singing it, i saw it as him saying “hold on, theres hope for everyone “. His tone and emotion was entirely different from the way i have heard it for years. Made me cry a little.

You could have heard a pin drop when he finished singing! Its like the audience was stunned to silence. Beautiful song. I loved it when he sang at the wedding.

Kelly's voice and soul.

@@dougchance8891 I used to go to church 8 times a week with a demanding Dad, who barely knew anything of his religion. It was a burden. On my own and when I step outside into this beautiful world, if not distracted, I often say "Thank you God for this beautiful world." I enjoy the grays, the bare branches, the buds of spring. When I hear beautiful voices that touch my undeserving failing ears, I thank God as I DON'T need someone else's version of Religion as my prayers, always for others, are heard. Voices singing praise are always welcome to my ears!
