@@GrayCatbird1 Gilgamesh is notoriously cocky. Like to a point of detriment. The entire reason that dipshit Shirou bested him in UBW was because he underestimated him (and I mean some Archer bullshit but uhhh shhhh...). He does however admit some heroes are worthy of his respect. In Zero it's Rider and Saber but they aren't alone. He admitted that he literally does not have time to be cocky with True Archer in Strange Fake if he wants to survive. He also very much respects Ozymandias as the other great king of the golden age. And then obviously his only friend in Enkidu.

@@lunarcat4278 It's true that Gilgamesh would've destroyed Shirou had he used Ea from the start, but the way I understood it he could not use it since he saw Shirou as a "fake" of himself, going all-out against him was the same as defeat to him. So in that perspective I'm not sure it was just him underestimating him.

@@GrayCatbird1 as a whole it's a Servant fighting a magus, a magus who isn't even really trained and the strongest Servant at that. Gil very easily should have won had he recognized what power Shirou had. However his pride and arrogance got in his own damn way that he couldn't admit that a Faker could ever come close to besting him, let alone somehow pulling it off.

Even though it was short......Favorite Battle of all time: Gilgamesh Vs Iskander on bridge. Amazing!! The respect they both showed.

This show has arguably the best villains ever, between Kirei, Archer and Berserker. Archer has the greatest ego and the greatest might, he's the Magnificent Bastard, always here to deliver an epic boast in your face, and to back it up with his strenth immediately after. Kirei is the Manipulative Bastard, and the men you know will end to be your worst enemy. He's devoid of anything but an empty faith and the desire to see others in pain. He knows he's evil, but carries on nevertheless. Berserker is the Mindless Beast. The ambiance changes everytime he shows up. Even without knowing his backstory, you can feel his reality-warping wrath.

Saber Alter was described by Nasu as an Anti-Hero, rather than a Villain. The antagonist is anyone who opposes the protagonist, and there isn't a clear protagonist in Fate/Zero.

True. There's characters with positive goals , characters with selfish goals, and character who should never be allowed to win the war no matter what. Amon the latter, Kirei and Zouken (also Caster, but he's ultimately irrelevant). And whose agenda does Berserker further ? I'll grant you he's Chaotic Neutral rather than Chaotic Evil, though. Perhaps I misinterpreted SA, though one shouldn't take everything Nasu says as gospel. She HAS an Evil alignment in Heaven's Feel, after all, and serves a being who's going to eradicate humanity, even if you could argue she has little choice in the matter. Maybe I should have written "FZ has the best antagonists" rather than "villains". I stand by what I've said, other than that.

Zouken was never expecting Kariya to win the war, he was merely amusing himself making him suffer. That's why he summoned Berserker in such class when Kariya obviously couldn't handle the prana required. I'm pretty sure if Kariya was close to winning the war, the first thing he'd do, as he said, would be order Berserker to off Zouken.

The greatness about kajuira Yuki's ost is that it's so iconic that i can remember the whole scene just by listening, it just revived that Iskandar vs Gilgamesh last scene in my brain

It was said that legends were mostly fictitious by design. Every repeat of the tale would grow more and more grand until they barely resembled what they once originally were. Yet, there were times when legends would fall woefully short of their descriptions. Certain stories from ages past that would undersell the hero of the story. But then again, no one alive would be able to tell the difference. Glory was the essence of those figures from eras long past their vigil-of heroes and monsters alike. So, when those of modern times would gaze upon the personification of victory, they could do nothing but stare. They did not know her. They have never seen her. But it was how she appeared that introduced them all to the majesty that the world had long forgotten. "I ask of you-" she began. The woman sat atop her exalted mare, clad in silver armor as it sparkled against the might of her golden lance. It was here that the cogs of Fate would begin their turn, that the truth of legends began their exalted tale at this very moment; when the magic settled, when a king arrives when they were needed, the world would pay heed, asking her in regal blue and with emerald eyes shone through the sun- "-Are you my Master?"

@@r.k845 I haven't read the Visual Novel so I can't argue about Saber's character or the plot being faithful to the source material. Though she is consistent with the fact she's supposed to a dignified almost sanctimonious king. So her cold and haughty but also conflicted character seemed fitting and coherent. The pacing was always good too, I don't remember one episode that felt like a filler or had any borefests. If any flaw there is, it would be the reasons of Arthuria's inner conflicts which look overblown and hard to take seriously. But it's cherrypicking.

Godly ost for a godly anime

Man, Gilgamesh is a hella complex character on Fate/Zero, with his Ego as big as his collection and back stabbing his master, yet, acts mature and honorable when talking with Saber and Rider, to the point of paying respect... and forcing marriage lol

Iconic master piece

There's some music you can get tired of listening to after like 30x of listening, but not this. This will never get old to me.

I don't know why even the feeling of the anime at the finale was just painful, I was so amazed about everything it happened

Love the main motif of this ost (ie. 5:08 ), especially it's usage in the track "The World is Tumbling Down". Not so sure about the first time you watch it, but when you rewatch it the theme serves as a constant reminder of how this all ends

this music truly describes the tragedy of Fate/Zero

Yuki Kaijura never fails, just finished Fate/Zero and she blew it out of the park with SAO as well

Yuki Kajiura is one of the best Composer. With her power of Music she Makes Fate to a big Love for Me. And Gilgamesh is one of the best

I feel like anime fans have something others don’t. It’s almost like, they have more of a soul. The potential hero’s of the world gravitating towards a life they wish they could have in a time where it seems impossible, with morals left behind. Our world needs real versions of these characters that are actually willing to give it all. Searching for these individuals is a difficult task, everyone wants to be a hero until they see the sacrifice, the punishment, the OutKast you’ll turn into.. it’s a battle over what’s right, and acceptance.

Well, the porn _did_ kickstart it. Without it, the original visual novel wouldn't have been too popular or gotten much attention to begin with, and nothing else would've followed.

The porn was never a large part of it to begin with. The VN is some 60 hours long. Of it, the hentai is less than an hour.

asm mahfuz The visual novel's originally had sex scenes and such that's why it gets called a hentai series, but none of the anime adaptions have anything like that

Fate/Zero is one of the best anime of all time and easily the best part of the fate franchise

Read the FSN Visual Novel before you start claiming such things. You can't just judge a work based on its flashy anime adaptations which, while good (and absolutely beautiful) are extremely lacking in terms of information regarding the characters, especially Shirou. Fate Zero (the anime) is just better than the UBW and perhaps HF animes, but that's just it. The source material/main canon which is the VN and features all the three routes of FSN is clearly superior to Fate Zero as a whole, and the best part of the Fate Franchise.

This was undoubtedly the best part in all fate series.

After all these years, this is still the ONLY one that makes my peach fuzz jump out of my skin.

Used this as my catalyst to summon Gil back then and freaked out when he really did came, ah..probably the most epic summon I've had
