I don't blame Vlad for being what he was I mean how would you react when you found out that your life was transformed and merged into a legend a creature of Horror I wouldn't blame glad for being at how he is in hating that Noble Phantasm I mean the guy was basically trying to be what he is what the legend is anymore it's not trying to become that vampire Vlad the Third

Yea, However Vlad was a hero for protecting his people. It’s basically as if the British were to have demonize George Washington. Though I think he should wear his title with honor because of how feared he was.

I really like how Fate decided to portray Vlad the way he's seen in Romania as a national hero.

Yeah,but the communists took that love to far associating Vlad with the communist dictator,you know like communists always do associating historical figures with the leaders and making people to love the dictator because he acts like those historical figures. Btw Romania was also a communist country until 1989. And most Romanians until these days have have that vision on Vlad influenced by the communist party compared to the historians that have a more realistic view.

Soarel The party didn't used his model directly but it was a Romanian movie about him in 1979 that really tried to imply the idea that Vlad the communist leader are very similar and even in old Romanian history manuals used in schools. The problem are not the myths but the fact that those myths were treated like they were true from a historical point of view.

What I love is Vlad isn't a noble hero or a tyrannical villain. Vlad did what he saw as necessary to kick out dissent and to protect Wallachia. While he is no Saint his main focus was a free and strong Wallachia. A man of great determination and great violence. what a lad

Interesting thing of note Dracul means "The Dragon" And Dracula means "The Son of The Dragon" And so Vlad III's taking up of the title "Dracula" is in some way It is Vlad's sort of declaration, of taking up his Father's mantle After the act of creating his "Forest of Impalement" Mehmed II, for all intents and purposes Declares Vlad as The Devil under Islamic Religion If one wondered whether not not The Devil was real, people merely looked to Wallachia and Vlad as their "proof" Vlad is a Self-Made Monster, he chose to walk a path of Hell in defense of his country, for better or worse, His people loved him, his enemies utterly feared him.

Extra Vlad is Vlad Summoned as "The Crusader" Apocrypha Vlad is "The Sovereign" And Berserker Vlad is "The Monster" They're all Vlad III but with different "interpretations" of the same person so to speak Extra Vlad is affected by Innocent Monster, hence why he looks so Demonic. But he's surprisingly loyal and friendly. So long as you're not his enemy He has most of his sanity, however one of his skills, "Protection of the Faith" does partially warp his sanity and forces him to be loyal to his master. The legend of Dracula affects Extra Vlad by the effects of Innocent Monster Giving him some Vampiric Qualities like Drinking Blood and the entire Spikey/Demonic aesthetic Apocrypha Vlad is say Vlad summoned as a King, and is unaffected by Innocent Monster, however The Legend of Dracula effects Vlad in a different way this time Now It's a full on Noble Phantasm that warps his very Existence However, Vlad III *hates* this Noble Phantasm Understandably so, as it's born of Slander from his enemies that most of the world takes as a representation of who he actually was as a person To the point he literally tried to kill himself when he was forced to activate it. Berserker Vlad however *is* Apocrypha Vlad, just with his "Legend of Dracula" Noble Phantasm activated on summon And mind you he still hates Dracula But he has *Madness Enhancement EX* Now think of Madness Enhancement like this E through A+++ is just a measure of how ANGEREY you are But EX... EX means there is something *fundamentally wrong* with you And for Berserker Dracula, EX Madness Enhancement is *required* just to *not have him kill himself* He still hates Dracula But the Madness Enhancement was needed *to make him willingly use the powers without killing himself* He is still Vlad III however, he has much more powers and strength, and all of the memories of Dracula he struggles with. But he is still Vlad III.

You forgot one thing. In the years that his enemies branded him a monster for his fear tactics, Vlad Tepes was a God revering man as dictated in his Journals found in his home. Yet upon learning of such a monstrous reputation the church abandoned Vlad and supported his enemies. It was at this point that Vlad coined a very famous phrase still used in movies and literature today. That phrase being, "If they want a monster, than I shall give them one".

If anyone is curious about which, of the 3 various Vlad IIIs are say, the strongest They are as such In terms of Strength It goes 1- Dracula/Berserker Vlad 2- Romanian Apocrypha Vlad 3- Extra Vlad 4- Apocrypha Vlad outside of Romania Dracula is arguably the most known monster/vampire in the entire world and that leads to a massive amount of legend To the point it's nigh impossible to summon Apocrypha Vlad outside of Romania, because Dracula's legend is just that much more powerful, and in the so rare chance you do, not only is he weaker than usual, Dracula's infamy litterally nerfs him even more. (Funnily enough, it's never been confirmed but there's some hints that if Dracula was outside of Romania and outside of Semiramis's Castle, he might have a Fame Boost) Extra Vlad has insofar only been in Extra, perhaps you can summon him perhaps you can't, so far nothing has expressed you can't, and there's more evidence to the likelihood that you can, than not.

The story of Dracula is always a sad one. But in Fate it is a testament to how legends never die. Were the rules of the Grail War more consistent Vlad would undoubtedly be the most powerful servant able to be summoned by a master. With two legends surrounding him and never being forgotten through out all time.

That's why I love Apocrypha Vlad, because on Romenia, he is nearly invincible, being able to face Karna on equal level.

In Romania he is still seen as a hero and a tragic story of a man fighting against the world. Very few Valachian documents remain from that time and most of the written history comes from Hungarian or Ottoman sources. Romanian scholars believe they might be exacerbated to put Vlad in a bad light to justify dethroning him. There are a lot of folk tales based on him that you don't find in any written document that indicate a just but harsh man. Of course these might be biased in our favor not wanting to see our national hero in a bad light.

In his time, what he did was seen as a normal thing.The ottomans are not prone to diplomatic negotiacions.Vlad knew that, and he did the most effective and normal thing a person of that time period could do. The spartans threw babies off of cliffs, samurais killed themselves because of the smallest most insignifficant mistakes.The past was wacky and out of order, so you can't really classify one's actions as good or bad.

Funny you mention that, as in "Fate Apocrypha" he views his Noble Phantasm (The Legend of Dracula) with utmost disdain and even refuses to use it because of his disgust toward that particular part of his "legend".

@@ty85207 yeah in all fate onward he's going to be seen as a lancer who hates the legend I remember hearing about how a group of Muslims came into his court and he asked them to remove there hijabas (I don't know how to spell that word for there religion hat) and they refused so he pretty much Said fine but he nailed it to thier skulls I find that story probably the most interesting

Vlad and Artoria would make the best of friends. Both cared for their countries, both are associated with dragons, and both have a master that they didn't like (Darnic and Kirisugu).

Although they have things in common they probably wouldn't get along so well. King Arthur was a noble and benevolent ruler. Vlad was a brutal tyrant who ruled with an iron fist slaughtering his own people by the thousands and any nobles who might oppose him. He also did extensive damage to his own country via scorched earth tactics rather than let it fall into the hands of the Turks. Arthur would probably view Vlad's methods as cruel and dishonorable while Vlad would probably view Arthur as a naive idealist like many others.

the way he ruled was based on the political situation of that era because the nobles who lived in that period fueled the conflict between the two branches of the ruling family the Draculestii and the Danestii. Those nobles made a hobby from putting and overthrowing their leaders for their personal gain. Most of the sources come from the catholic church were he is presented as a bloodthirsty ruler but in reality he was the right ruler at the right time considering the fact that after the fall of Constantinople the entire eastern Europe was threaten by the ottomans. A similar ruler in eastern Europe was Skanderbeg in Albania. In short he was a cruel man in a cruel world but he tried to fight for his nation's independence and he was really good at doing this considering how many times he was betrayed by the standards of that period. He got the throne for 3 times, he tried to stop the ottomans,he made alliances for his people,he stayed captive for half of his life and he impaled tens of thousands of people, a complex person.And by the way the most interesting thing that many people forget about him is the night attack from 16-17 June 1462 when he sneaked alone in the enemy camp to kill the sultan and he created chaos in that camp after that the ottomans retreated but Vlad didn't have the opportunity to celebrate because after that he was betrayed and his brother was made the ruler.

Honestly now I would wanna see Vlad as an Assassin.

Vlad is definitely my favorite servant from apocrypha i find his character and his skills very cool. He’s also the first one i recognized and i thought his addition was very unique. The fight between him and karna was so fun to watch and i think he could have beat him. In his domain he has so much offensive power that he can take out some pretty strong servants like hercules or arturia

@@VVEmil not Gil, though few can compete with Gil to begin with. Gate of Babylon + Enuma Elish is too broken, but using Gil is unfair to alot of Servants in terms of strength comparison. He definitely would be on par with Top Class Servants like Iskander, Arturia, and even perhaps Ozymandias

Can we just say that he's the best Uncle in Fate ? Elisabeth and Nero already agreed on this.

Gotta say one of your best fate vids yet admittedly I might be biased considering I love Vlads legend both fictional and real history.

Vlad III was a Romanian king His title vampire (Dracula) is not fitting as he impailed his victims with a stake. Not what we know fictionally as 2 bite markes on the neck. He hates the nick name and being called that as in his mind he was no monster he was a warrior Fighting to keep the peace. I've managed to pull this guy in the game honestly best pull ever

We need an Alter Ego Vlad that references and looks like the vampires from nowadays for a summer event. He’d be a hunk, and his NP shows him in the moonlight at the beach with a “lover” until he kills them. @Dusk til Dawn, Twilight LMAOoooooo

There is a game called Vlad The Impaler that mixes both reality and fiction just as well as Fate. Oh and Vlad's traitorous brother Radu is in it.

In my opinion I think Vlad is a interesting character people just misunderstood Vlad calling him a vampire and all but keep making these Fate lore videos I like them a lot

This is my very favorite character in the fate series, thank you for bringing his legend to light for everyone to see. I always love watching your videos on my favorite servants. You are quite a talented and skill artist, my friend.

2:38 Yo, that Fate version of the famous portrait of the real guy, that's rad!

I find it sad, but fitting that the anime adaptation of Fate/Apocrypha showed Vlad Tepes's vampire form with such a ridiculous appearance instead of the more terrifying depiction in the novels. It might be a way of showing how Vlad saw the Legend of Dracula as a mockery, or even as a way of displaying the diversity of the vampire stories spawned from the story of Dracula. Either way, I feel sorry for him.

Very excellent video. Would be cool to see a lore vid on Vlad III from Fate Extra (aka the "human" aspect of Vlad III) as a neat follow-up since both versions are in FGO.

Fun fact even after Vlad the lll death War still rages in the Balkan States until the modern era

Ironically Vlad EXTRA is a hard foil to Apocrypha Vlad because his KB has Anti-Evil properties and the all-class vs Berserker advantages

As a Turk cheering/feeling bad form in was weird. Like I remember watching very old Turkish movies in which even "kazıklı voyvoda" being on the scene was a big thing and unless he was talking/fighting to main character he always shown killing people and putting them to stakes...

Here's hoping you do Salieri's story sometime in the future

A quick regard about Darnic: in my opinion, he was a pretty smart magi, I think 14 servants would dramatically increase the power of the grail if everything went smoothly, possibly making it possible to reach the root.

Dedication to free and protect his/her country even in the extreme immoral methods by the cost of being a monster to the world is considered forgivable and heroic as long it's not for selfish gained. For Vlad he loves his country too much and will do the extreme to protect it.

@@otakudaikun well i can give some insight into vlad Extra.You see in Extra he is summoned with the noble phantasm "Protection of faith rank A+++" its a sort of divine protection made from the servants very faith then an actual divine entity actually giving it to them.the biggest draw back is the higher the rank in the skill the more crazy the servant tends to be...like a form of madness enchantment.the vlad of Extra is the human side of vlad much closer to who he was in real life while the berserker vlad (the vlad in this video) is the one closer to "Legend of Dracula" the reason he is lancer and has this form is he is summoned in his home country where he is the strongest and most logical. As Described in Fate Go "He looks acts like a Berserker , but in his eyes you can see the last bits of his sanity . the emotions of a Knight who believes in true love and tries to protect the one fragment he has left"

he did horrible things for a just cause out of desperation. nothing tells us what we would have done if we were in his shoose.....so let's not judge him too harshly, for being the leader of a dersperate country who's oppressed by the kingdoms around him is definitely a harsh task.

It's always strange seeing how different this character is from his Extra version.

I aways think that Darnike permitted that one mage to escape thinking he did activate the back up. The idea that with more servants, more magic power will be given to the Grail. Because Darnike never imagined that Amakusa will be there so no one will be more prepared than him.

Castlevania's. In Castlevania, he's practically a god, with power over the souls of all monsters.

Question can you explain how Darius was absorbed by Dracula? Because it confuses me and if Darius could do that does that mean another master could do that? Or at least can a servant absorb the master’s magic circuits and other traits to become self sufficient. lets say a servant harvested a master for their magic circuits and organs and shit would this allow a servant because a Demi/pseudo master?

Dracula lord is sad but this is my point saying. I want the Dracula Untold movie story in the FGO so that he can accept, "Legend of Dracula." Noble Phantasm recover HP because He Berserker. Not just die alone but he die for people and his family in the movie. ; P

Did he deserve what happened to him, maybe he did because he did some bad shit but he willingly did it and never regretted anything. well there's not even evidence to back the idea that dracula's was based off of him....he could also be based of henry the 8ty for all we know...tho the result is there yes.

Question. Vlad III is a Lancer in Apocrypha. In Extra there is also a Vlad who is also a Lancer but different design. In F/GO the Lancer of Black appears but as a Berserker. Why is that? Cause I think Extra's Vlad would make a better Berserker.

JJtheSNKKid I'm pretty sure Extra Vlad was an earlier design. As for why he goes from lancer in Apocrypha to berserker in FGO I'm not sure.

Vlad would have been cooler if he turned into a dragon rather then a vampire with his noble phantasm.

How powerful is Vlad in his "fictional" vampire form compared to a Dead Apostle? Is he stronger or weaker?
