It's personally my favorite. I'd imagine however that the reason it was chosen is that it is the best Emiya theme for a metal cover. Almost all of the Emiya themes have long slow sections in them that don't synergize with metal well. Illya's theme was made for a very specific battle in mind, therefor it is hype and/or high energy at all time. If you go listen the originals, you'll see why I think they chose it.

I'm loving all the Fate covers, idk how they do that but no matter which composer, all Fate OSTs are amazing without exception so you also have an Unlimited Cover Works worth of material to work with.

I don't think that's a minority opinion among the Fate fanbase, actually. Prisma can be incredibly cringe, but that's par for the course for the series. Its good moments are fucking incredible, and like you said, the characterization is impressive throughout. Whereas Apocrypha... well, Mordred and Shishigou were cool.

@@starhalv2427 I take it that you haven't watched the show. Or are familiar with the franchise in general. First, in the show it's not really armor, it's more of a form-fitting top. Second, they have superhuman abilities predetermined by parameters, which automatically makes them impossibly tough even when naked, and Illya here has a surplus of mana, which enhances her even further. Not to mention other more obscure stuff such as class advantage, class card compatibility, the unique properties of her weapons, territory bonus, etc. She doesn't NEED armor, she IS the armor.

Illya's version is perfect for this type of mix. The entirety is either hype or high energy. Most Emiya tracks have slow sections that wouldn't synergize well.
