I remember being in that nightclub scene as an extra. It was filmed in an underground club on K Road in Auckland in 2001 - I forget the name of it now (near Vegas Girls). But the film setup was taking ages, I was extremely stoned and hadn't eaten anything all day. So when the lights came on and the camera swung past my head, I fainted on the dance floor - first time it had ever happened to me. Next thing I know I'm being woken up by the medic with about 25 extras and Fat Freddy's Drop staring at me. I tried to stand up but my legs gave way, so I just sort of sat there awkwardly for a minute taking it in. I felt fine, but couldn't walk for some reason. It was the first shot of the day, and somehow it was now all about me. In the end I made it outside and they continued filming. Outside I saw a girl with ice on her foot. I asked what happened to her, and she said, "Your head broke my foot." She wasn't too impressed about missing out on being in, what is now one of NZ's most famous music videos. So if you are that girl, and you're reading this in 2019, please know that I do still feel bad about it. And that you're in good company. And to the band, I'm sorry for holding your shoot up. I had every intention of getting irie on that dance floor, believe me.

I find it weird how other people not from NZ find it weird that we eat fish and chips. Something I'll never understand haha.
