👉 Here are my top tips for fixing the damage
I'll show you how to repair dog pee stains on your lawn.
👉 The first step is to identify the burn on the lawn, which is characterised by a brown or yellow patch of grass with a dark green ring around the edge. This dark green ring is caused by excess nitrogen in the urine, which stimulates the growth of the grass around the burn.
👉 Next, I use a rake to clear away the dead grass, which helps to expose the soil and make it easier for the new grass to take root. I then fork the area to aerate the soil and improve drainage, which is important for healthy grass growth.
👉 To help break up the water tension in the soil, I use a wetting agent made from dishwashing soap. This helps the soil to absorb water more effectively and provides a better environment for the grass to grow and will dilute any remaining pee in the soil
👉 Next, I mix up some soil (you can also use compost) and seed in a bucket, to provide nutrients and improve soil quality. This is beneficial for growing strong, healthy grass that can withstand environmental stressors.
👉 Once the soil is prepared, I level the area with my foot, which is suitable for small areas. For larger areas, a rake or other leveling tool may be more appropriate.
👉 Finally, I come back a few weeks later to check on the progress of the new grass. With proper care and maintenance, the area should be fully repaired and looking great!

I have bluegrass, those small spots fill in pretty quick during the summer. Now in the spring after winter I have to fix like 40 spots every year.

Great video Robbie, would or have you used the fairy liquid as a wetting agent for all your lawn during the dry spells? I've heard baby shampoo is the way to go to stop your lawn drying out in the summer whats your views on it?

The nitrogen in the dogs mess is what causes the dark green patches, if the grass gets overwhelmed by this, it dies. But to even out the look of your lawn, you can liquid/granular npk fertilise everywhere else but these patches.

one way to make a lawn very dark green is to apply iron sulphate, you could do this as well, iron sulphate works best alongside a fertiliser. it wouldn’t matter if you got iron on the existing patches.
Also I don’t have fairy soap what is another substitute to disinfect the area?

How do I know what kind of grass I have?
My dog urinates in a small area. Get a sprinkler, turn it on for 10 mins after they’ve been, dilute it.

It acts as a wetting agent. Meaning: it breaks down the surface tension of the water (when it rains or you water the grass) and allows the water to spread out - give better coverage - so the roots get water a lot easier
Or you can use black gypsum from The Anderson’s

@@Premier_lawns_official yes Robbie, that's what I put down originally and then stupidly went to a hardware shop and bought a box of grass seed not having a clue what was in it. That was the start of my poa journey. It just looks a bit of a mess now with some bits growing and some not so I'm reseeding with the original, more expensive mix now. Hopefully it'll pick up without me having to dig it all up and start again. Thanks for the response and keep the videos coming.

I’ve evicted my dog. Given him his 30 days notice 😂
My issue is my lab pees every day basically in the same spot when I let him out. So I just live with it. Too lazy to have him on leash and take him out to to the backyard

Have you tried dog rocks put them in the dogs water for a while. It takes a few weeks for it to work. Some people say they work and some don't Worth a shot though

Not true mist people dont teach their dogs or bother to take them out gor toilet.
I had a beautiful lawn i had a dog i never allowed dog to toiket on my lawn . Teach your dogs nit to wee on your lawn . Or dont have a dog
