    Yet another amazing video. Julius makes all us RCF owners very proud. He is separating the fiction from the reality With traffic and passenger as well as a couple of times I noticed he did not downshift and got caught in a tall gear climbing up,, he did a 7:54, which is very impressive.

    Idk about that, this track is really a 3rd and 4th gear track they say. He still managed a sub 8 regardless if he made mistakes or not.

    To solve the mystery of differences, the RCF TE DOES have more downforce because of the bigger wing in the back. However, the chassis/suspension of the RCF TE and the other RCFs is almost identical. The RCF TE AVS dampers has a slightly stiffer rebound rate than the non-TE RCF (compression is the same). Having a higher rebound rate means, it would keep the car buttoned down more fast over bumps. The spring rates, control arms, bushings are all the same. Also, RCF TVD/CF and RCF LSD have different rear springs. The RCF TVD/CF has a slightly stiffer rear end to make the rear end rotate more easily.

    So can it be said that if you put the RC-F TE wing on regular RC-F and get the Carbon Ceramic brake pads, You then have turned a reg RC-F to and RC-F TE?

  • @2ZZGE100

    @2ZZGE100

    @@I3PREDACON Yes, for the most part. The weight reduction mostly comes from lighter wheels, carbon ceramic brakes (about 40 - 50 lbs weight reduction), carbon fiber parts. A carbon/TVD RCF already has the carbon fiber roof. The CF hood saves about 7 lbs as the hood is already aluminum in a standard LSD or TVD RCF. The rear wing is also carbon, but it is the heavier active spoiler rather than the fixed TE CF spoiler. It would also require removing the motors etc. for the active spoiler to reduce the weight. Alternatively, I also did a lightweight lithium ion battery and lost 30 lbs just be replacing the battery. More weight could be reduced, if one goes with a smaller battery. Also, the 10-point rear subframe chassis brace behind the rear seat that is made of stamped steel in the RCF, is carbon fiber in the TE/FSW and it saves a lot of weight since stamped steel is heavy and CF is very light. I would guess around 12 - 15 lbs. The seats are the same minus the front seat's cooled and heated seat mechanism so that is some weight reduction as well. The ML system was also removed initially, but then they got added back into the TE/FSW RCF. You can see Julian has the ML stereo.

  • @2ZZGE100

    @2ZZGE100

    2 жыл бұрын

    It was with a passenger, with traffic and without a pro race car driver. Would have been easily a 7:40 or less with no passenger and no traffic especially with a race car driver. You are comparing apples to oranges. Z51 7:30 was in ideal conditions like any tested laps are done with no traffic and without passengers. Besides, RCF is a 2 + 2 high performance sports coupe that mixes luxury, practicality and high performance. I know I bought an RCF carbon/TVD edition because I can put two baby seats in the back and a stroller in the trunk to enjoy with family while also taking it to the track every once in a while over the weekend and run great lap times especially with the high-revving V8. The Z51 is a mid-engine 2 seater coupe that sacrifices a lot of practicality.
