Been running prototype versions of this mod since March of 2020. Best money you can spend on the Max. Chris is a great guy and I would recommend his gear to anyone who feels like their Max could use more grunt. Awesome upgrade.

So I’m confused. When you do this are you disabling the battery that comes with it? Is it running on both? For example can you ride on the 48v and then when that runs out switch over to the stock 36v for additional range?

In drains in tandem with the stock pack so they both run out around the same time. You bring up a good point though, the aux pack gas a separate charger and needs to be charged separately to full each time.

I have recently purchased the segway f30/ exactly the same as the max but less range will this work on my scooter thx

Does the 48volt battery have to have a female xt60 or a male xt60 connector on its end to plug into the neck of the ninebot scooter??

I have not.... but I'd bet money that you could find another battery on Alibaba for that scooter. I opened up the deck on mine and there is a surprising amount of unused space under the deck...

You don't need to flash it to go back to 36V

I wonder if this mod is going to be available for the MAX G2 coming out in July 2023 for us in USA? They seem like the same scooter other than the new version has shocks now vs the older mod.

Hey do they make one for the hiboy pro I want to upgrade it to a 72 V

I use xyio flasher or whatever you call it to try and upgrade the power on my scooter. But now it doesn't go higher than 20 km. So warning Anyway will this battery booster override the downgrade I upload it to my scooter? And another thing, is there a comparable at to scooter companion?

Was wondering why you didn't mention possibly mounting the battery bag to the center of the handlebar stem.....? Looks like it would fit and keep that front area clear for your footing. Also if there were a problem with the bag sliding down you could purchase one of the many plastic hooks that mount to the stem and secure it that way....? Just a thought. Seems like it would be out of the way and still look good.

When your charging external and internal battery do you have to disconnnect the series connection? or does it not matter?

You don't have to disconnect them. You do charge them separately though.

Thats an error for incorrect system voltage. Make sure you properly flashed the correct firmware.

I don't know if the stock firmware or controller would allow for reflashing on that scooter.

9:33 G30's standard battery is 36V, you put it parallel with a 48V battery with a Y-connector. Should it explode, or is there something 'nifty' in that Y-connector? When putting batteries parallel, they should have the same voltage give or take 0.1V, right?

Its not parallel..its in series thats.why he has a connector key at the end of the video to complete the circuit

@@melardenio I’m not sure about series connection because then you’ll increase the voltage, 36v + 48v then the scooter will be running on 84v, I’m still not sure what type of connection the put in there, but I will find out really soon, my kit comes in today and I will be able to tell you guys all about it on a detailed video.

Chris over at mymaxmods.com built a 72v one that I rode at 40+mph . He'd be the guy to talk to.

ginge when you put the bag on with the battery you should of pushed the bag up the bar a bit more so you can get your foot under it i done it with my aovo pro2 and you can still fold it dwn well you can on mine

Does this also work for the g30lp?

Any option like this for the emove cruiser? If can double the range of that thing that'd be sweet!

Yeah. It'd be custom but it's not hard. Just need to wire another pack in parallel with a splitter. Good to go.

Can you Use it on Author brands as well?

The two batteries are hooked together in series so the scooter controller just sees one large 48v battery instead of a small 12v and medium 36v. It uses power from them both at the same time while running. The USB ports only use power when the scooter is turned on.

i just looked at the battery upgrade and they are out of stock....ahhhhhhh.... To be able to increase from 30kmh\ to 50 km\h is so worth the price. I laugh because I bought mine and though wow this is fast enough. Saw your video and now its way to slow....The need for speed baby. I would kill to have 1 that goes 80 or 100 km\h Just not wanting to spend that much. I could buy a car or truck or daum....Good video my friend. Cheers

Yup. Parallel additions usually aren't a problem. When you wire them in series and increase the voltage then things can get messy.

But I've run into a problem my scooter after installing the firmware and connecting the cords I'm no longer getting a reading for the battery percentage on my scooter. You need to charge both to the same voltage ⚡(parrallel connection) before connecting them :) once they are connected you want to charge them both together from one to ensure the voltage stays the same. If you charge them separately, you will need to make sure the voltage is within 1v of each other before connecting them back together :)

I've used a 12v 7ah battery and 12v 14ah and now am running a 12v 17ah battery all AGM batteries. I'm 260lbs and with my current tune ive hit 28.583mph!

Yes, sir! Chris is a great guy, very helpful and knowledgeable. There is no doubt though that the Emove is a bit more fun than the upgraded max. They go about the same speed, but the Emove gets insane range and has quite a few more features.

Problem is if you run the battery too low, one of the Battery may be empty while the other may be still half full. This will kill the empty battery

Had literally same thoughts here, doing RC flying and cars for many years, it will break one of your batteries in the long run, unless BMS is smart enough and notice a lower voltage of a cell, and stops to continue driving.

You have to monitor and charge both batteries. They usually drain equally assuming you have charged both equally. When I am down to 20-30% on internal my external is about the same

You should tape those XT60 connectors together, they can come loose because of vibrations and cause serious fires (3D printing community has a lot of experience witht these connectors loosening and catching fire due to high resistance)
