Hello Friends, if you don't know who I am, here's a little more about me.
My name is Brice.
I was born in Rennes, France.
After graduating from film school in 2003, I moved to Paris, starting a career in the film industry.
One of my first assignment was assistant editor on an animal documentary. Presented by Warner Independent Pictures and National Geographic Feature Films, "March of the Penguins" became a box office hit and Oscar winning documentary touching the hearts of audiences around the globe.
My time spent in Paris was shared between his film editing and my love of photography.
In 2009 I decided to follow my long sought after dream and moved to Canada.
My passion for photography soon became an obvious career and, whether it is for portraits at my Vancouver studio, or for larger commercial jobs on location, all around the world, I am now happy and proud to devote all of my time and energy doing what I love most. Photographing/filming athletes for running brands and magazines, and capturing my adventures for outdoors brands.
When I am not photographing big commercial projects, I also work on personal projects like "Studio to Trails". Which has been widely popular in North America amongst the trail running community.
My client list includes: Salomon, TED, New Balance, Asics, AirBnb, Canadian Running Magazine, British Columbia Magazine, Trail Runner Magazine.

I just climbed this mountain July 28th, 2023. Took quite long at about 9 hrs round trip (1 hr at the top). Beautiful scenery.

If you don’t see this that’s ok, I hope you do. But I know of a mountain trail in nordegg that I did last summer and I think that would be a really good challenge if you looking for one it’s called tuff puff and it’s around 14km

Very nice film. Thanks. Can you explain the verification process? Is it just the runner timing with one or two others timing from the trailhead? Another party tracking it in real time via app or something?
@briceferrestudio
3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. The whole run is timed and GPS'd, with witnesses at the start and finish. Everything is logged with Strava so it's easier to verify.
My only question is: when did you guys manage to pick a day with nobody else on the summit? Climbed Brunswick this past week (in November!!) and still there were plenty of people at all stages of the climb. I'm probably twice Jeanelle's age - and fittingly did the climb in twice the elapsed time. Well done to her!

If I recall correctly we shot this on a Wednesday morning, and we started at 7am on August 28th 2019. It was a beautiful summer day and we were up there early enough that no one was there yet. :) Thank you for watching!

I would love to see a Behind The Scenes on how this was filmed. I saw in the comments below that Brice did all the filming. It looks like there was some drone video as well as someone following her and filming, as well as filming her from the front. Just curious how this was done. I used to do a lot a trail running and loved running in the mountains, so this brought back a lot of good memories. But I also love photography and so am interested in how the filming was done, since this in itself must have been a great challenge and required a lot of planning.

@briceferrestudio

Yes, that is very accurate. Even though we did shoot a few crucial shots on the day though. Beginning, top of the mountain and end were shot on the FKT day.

A fantastic achievement and beautifully filmed. However, I was concerned to see the decision to take so little water, and for the film to essentially glamourise this point. It’s entirely the runners right to make that assessment and decision, but I wish that part hadn’t been shown - there will be others nowhere near this standard who think they can also cut back on essential kit and supplies.
@briceferrestudio
3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words. Hopefully people understand that it is a speed record attempt and not a hike on the mountain. I trust that most of my audience get that point and also do their research before attempting to climb Brunswick. I did not mean to glamourise the small water intake, but it was just a purely objective depiction of what happened and how light Jeanelle had to travel to be that fast on her feet. Years of training and mountain experience go into experiences like this one and I do not expect people to think they can match that on any given saturday morning. Same way I would not decide to run mountains in Norway with very little calories and water because I saw Kilian do it on youtube. I completely understand and respect your point, but I do trust that most people will make the distinction between record attempt and weekend hike. Thank you for watching the video and for taking the time to give me some feedback. It's always appreciated.

But they haven't. That's like saying no sports team's wins actually count unless they're playing the current leading team in the league. The simple fact is she got the FKT, she did incredibly, and the film documenting it is awesome and motivating to many.
