Join me as I experienced the North East Bluefin grounds like never before. A giant bluefin has been on my bucket list for years, finally I was in a place to tick off those dreams.
On this day the fishing was insane, every time a mackeral was dropped to the bottom it would get eaten in seconds. I was fortunate enough to lay eyes on a 600 to 700lb Bluefin in which we had the pleasure of releasing.
My 3 hours were spent in the Black magic harness with an 80 wide alutecnos , spooled with 130lb Jinkai monofilament, 200lb leaeder and 10/0 live bait circle hook. Rod was a real easy 80-130lb standup rod.
