Faster Zoffset Tutorial

Ғылым және технология

A video how to setup your z offset faster, why start a large print before getting your first layer down pat. First layer firmly adhered to the bed will create next too invisible layer lines and great overall adhesion.

    Mayhem. I was gifted a Anycubic Kobra Go for Christmas this past year and I have found your videos very helpful. I fix desktop printers for a living and somehow made my hobby involve the use of printers. (Admittedly 3D printers certainly are a different beast.) When I received the printer it was having printing issues and your videos helped me to dial in the settings necessary to get it printing well. Thank You!

Changed the offset during the print it's printing perfect now. Alot of yt vids say to use the paper method which I did. To tight tolerance, maybe used 2 pieces of paper or experiment while laying down a print. ENDER 5 SQ1

    Hi. Got a used Kobra Go for 1 month now. You have very useful videos! Thank you! I have an easythreed K1 (toy) printer since 8 months, i just wanted to know if i liked printing. I made some awesome prints with it, learned to design things with 3d software. Because i found the kobra very cheap i want to see if i can improve my prints with the kobra. I was wondering, do you have your Go profile somewhere for Cura? I could use that as starting point and fine tune while printing.....the stock profile in cura does an 'ok' job... but seeing your prints makes me wonder.....😊 Thanks in advance for your reply! Oh yeah, 1 question more. Do you like your Neo more then your Go now?😊

    Im new to 3d printing. Just got an Ender 3 V3 KE. Its got the auto bed leveling. My prints have been coming out pretty decent. Not sure if youre familiar with the KE. But how often do u have to do this calibration? And how do you ensure the printers computer keeps the adjusted z-offset you put in?? Im guessing i would need to turn off the auto z-offset option.

  • @EffinWit

    @EffinWit

    6 ай бұрын

    Auto bed levelling measures the height of the bed in multiple points, then that data is added to the z-offset for the total nozzle distance. Only manually adjust the z-offset *after* bed-levelling so you don't get any collisions. I level the bed of my Ender 3 and P1S before every print just to remove it as a variable if something goes wrong, but I haven't changed the z-offset yet. Typically you shouldn't need to re-level your bed unless you're getting first layer issues or swapping filaments and print beds.

  • @mayhemsmiley

    @mayhemsmiley

    6 ай бұрын

    Hey GC, I don't level my bed very often, it's been very stable. Other than creating KZread content I wouldn't level until I would have an issue. I dial in the z offset right on the main screen, so every time I start a print it is visible. I have priming lines in my start code so I look at them when I start a print, if something looks odd I will stop and verify, rarely an issue. Let us know if you have any issues.

Only issue is that when the light shines on the print, I can see the brim divided into sectors, and there is the entry line diagonally across. Is that normal? My Z offset was manually adjusted to -0.6mm.

  • @mayhemsmiley

    @mayhemsmiley

    3 ай бұрын

    Hey Sean, thanks for the feedback. The entry line across doesn't matter. Sounds like you might still be a little too far away, do another a little closer and analyze the results. Don't do as big of jumps as I did in the video, smaller slower to dial in and understand your results. Let me know how you make out.

    Hi FIm, Thanks for the comment. The offset doesn't get calculated. The offset gets dialed down until it sticks and is difficult to remove with your fingernail, but dial down slowly so as not to damage your print bed then write the number down.
