If this was a Good Video from these presenters, they would CARE about answering your questions. They responded to one out of insecurity to defend themselves and their response was childish at best. They didn't help anyone here because their presentation was full of holes.

Back in my volunteer firefighter days? And training ? In one of the state academy classes we were taking turns on hanging the water plugs . A fellow volunteer from another district? When he went to loop the hose? He tripped running or walking fast to the plug? Fell and broke his leg and we had to get EMS to treat and transport to a hospital where he received? A nice cast on his leg. It's always good practice to pace ones self and watch out to not get injured doing the job. I felt bad for the poor guy as he was in some pain. In close ? To this day I still don't get how he got hurt but he was hustling pretty quick and I guess? He was trying to get the plug hooked up so fast? That he banged up his leg.. Great video here guy's thanks for sharing and a flashback. Oh yeah the hose? Was 5 inch hose line.

What do you guys do to tie your rip cord for your shoulder bundle?

Does having your mask on coming off the truck take away some of your situational awareness?

Not necessarily, if you get tunnel vision I would have your mask off until you feel comfortable enough.

If you want fast water, consider booster lines, also known as 1 inch red lines &/or class A extinguishers A.K.A. 2 1/2 gallon pressurized water cans. A Driver/Engineer may not always position the engine advantageous for preconnected hose. Less hose on the ground reduces hose damage; trip hazard; A.K.A. (Spaghetti Pile) and exposure to run off; A.K.A. (Witches Brew). Hose should be deployed dry, not dragged wet. Superfluous hose deployment reduces available manpower & water if the engine tank is your only source. If you want fast attack, consider Ansel Redline extinguishers with high-flow nozzles &/or carbon dioxide extinguishers. Remember; if you use class A.B.C. dry chemical &/or CO2; you do not have to waste time shutting off the electric,(time is also your enemy). Remember; ventilate high and check doors for heat; DO NOT OPEN if you're not ready to attack. 📣 DO NOT BRAKE GLASS/WINDOWS below the fire & CLOSE THE DOORS behind you and mark your egress with a light box on the floor. You cannot completely close a door if there is a charged hose across the doorway. You will increase the chance of survival for your Interior Attack Group; occupants (people/pets) & reduce property damage. I hope my opinion helps the next time you form a Plan Of Action/Attack. BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Booster lines are the second fastest tool you have next to the Deck Gun. No tangle, like they had and took three people to handle, and you pull just what you need.

combo nozzle gotta go...smooth bore ;-)

You will need a fog pattern if you ventilate with your hose line; cool large areas; protect/shower off personnel.

Smooth bores are one of the most ignorant tools ever created for firefighting. Right next to Ground Monitors. No adjustment means no flexibility in a Very flexible environment.

@@keithjohnson9446 Bingo and there is Nothing new about an adjustable nozzle. In fact, back in the late 60's and early 70's, I couldn't find one if I tried and I wouldn't want one. They make no sense. You can get the same range with an adjustable nozzle.

The first line should be chosen for its proper length for that VBM so you don't have a 60' knot that needs to be shaken out. 4:30 This makes no sense. The folded line should be laid on the ground on its side and then the nozzle pulled to the fire. The water pressure will open what's left like an accordion. 5:30 If the Burning Material is Visible from the street, you position the Engine, so the Deck Gun has a line of sight on it. One FFer on the hydrant line. The second is the engineer activating the pump. The third to the Deck Gun and the Fourth pulling a line. This took 55 seconds, and you will be hard pressed to find one fire video that shows water flowing even this fast. There just aren't any because the USA doesn't have people with that kind of work ethic. Don't worry, I've been a citizen of the USA for 71 years. I just have the ability to evaluate performance. 6:20 I KNEW IT! Look how the officer has to shake out the line and the engineer has to leave his post to do the same. Didn't happen like stated at 5:20. It wasn't the water pressure that did it. It Could have if the folded hose was laid on it's side and then pulled out by the nozzle. "Grab and Run doesn't get it done!" That's THREE people to effectively pull a line. Who has that extra manpower available? When an officer has to get their hands dirty, there is no one leading. 8:30 Here is the "Theory." which is good. It is the application where the pile is just dumped into a knot that destroys the theory. 9:35 You don't have to do this, which creates an even bigger knot, if you just laid the hose parallel to the engine and head towards the structure with the nozzle. The water pressure would have pushed the remaining hose out. 12:15 That's why you have different packages for different applications. One hose does not fit all situations.

This looks like a recipe for disaster.
