Brian V depends on your city, my small city has a place 1/8 mile called eagle field. Most cities or adjacent cities have atleast a 1/8 mile track. Lets say 20 people gather with their hondas and race cars. They can all pitch in to rent a track for a couple of hours too. It doesnt always have to be a private event hosted by a company. Usually car meets at jack in the box are about 40 + cars on sunday. If they all pitched in atleast 20 bucks they could rent a place for 4 hours. That attrwcks more people next thing you know is 100 plus car showing up every sunday and the hosts can charge cover to pay for the fees.

All the drama and action is so well done compared to the later movies, it's shocking watching this movie after all this time and seeing a legitimate real movie, with arcs and interesting scenes and consequences. I hate that the new movies do so well, people are the worst.

This is one of the few parts of the early f and f films where there's no random gearshifts, no NoS that turns the car to lightspeed, just straight up racing with nice import cars

Funny right, how that was never even a factor at all in Race Wars? My two cents is that Brian, still a cop, knew that Dom was going to lose, but leveled with him racer to racer, they built a car to beat Hector's 3 beasts, but due to circumstance they both had to duck out halfway through.

I think it’s funny he says “Motech” because if you look it up, Motech makes exhaust and other systems for primarily muscle cars. And obviously a Honda Civic isn’t a muscle car. Another quick side note, spoon engines are not cheap.

For those who don't know, at 1:39 she wasn't actually in the S14 but instead in some "mic-rig" truck with a shell of a car on the bed. Same thing with Jessie and the Jetta, if you notice closely during the s2000 vs Jetta race you would see that the interior is different from the earlier shots. Check the fast and furious behind the scene video or craig lieberman instagram page.

It's either have an inconsistency or hollow out another car to put on the rig. The budget on the first film was pretty tight, so I don't think it was in their interest to fashion another MicRig car for the short-lived scene.

Fun fact: the guy that tells the people to start...you know the hand signals, is Craig Lieberman and he was a mechanical advisor in the rest 2 movies(2 Fast 2 furious) and he owned Brian's supra and Vince's maxima and Brian's skyline for the second movie.the hand signals were he tells the drivers to look at him was a mistake because almost everyone was looking at the girls.and they kept it in the film.also almost every driver was a real street racer

It was the last generation that was able to bridge the gap between the lonely pre-internet era and the social media-obsessed reality of today. When I first saw this movie(15 yrs old) everybody and their grandma brought their imports (mostly hondas) to the theater! OMG after the movie was nothing but inspirational tire smoke in the parking lot! Body kits, mufflers, led lights. B series swaps was the shit! Waaaaaaaay before serious turbo mods! Mostly FWD!😂😂😂😂😂honestly those race track events was really popping like that back in days, bbq and everything! Damn I miss those days!

Letty just absolutely decking Lance and seeing everyone gassing the fuck out of it is always amazing

I like how the car smog gives this scene a not so happy day vibe, which aligns with the scene. On a good day, southern california has a completely blue skype, but you see nothing but car smog in this scene. Come to think about it, many movies from the 90s and filmed in the Los Angeles area had this hazy looking smog. This scene was filmed in the city of San Bernardino, and today smoggy days like in this scene are less common, thanks to clean air initiatives. This film is defintely one of my favorites that captures the 90s and early 00s vibe.

I go through McDonald's and Burger King drivethru's backwards. I never got over this movie. It's been permanently ingrained in all automobile buying decisions since then.

JDM Imports I think they meant the whole car would have cost 100k to get to that level. Makes a lot more sense that way. 100k just for the stuff under hood is 5000hp territory

Even at that time, that s2000 would have been a beast to beat! I don't think it would have mattered if Jesse had hit the nos later than he did, against that car he was losing his Jetta!

0:15 Honda Accrod wagon 0:49 right car is a Lexus SC400 ( Toyota Z30 Soarer in Japan) The extras were told to keep racing whether the camera roll or not. Point Break with its surfboards and then there's The Fast and The Furious with its cars.

OMG this is the scene that really got me into imports....i would be in highschool in 2004 in computer class on ebay looking at cheap eclipses and supras i could buy....and then go home and try to convince my dad to buy one for me. He ofcourse said no, but he did get me a 1994 honda prelude for christmas when i got my license so i can't be mad. Still my favorite import of all time.

Tokyo Drift 2Fast2Furious and The Fast And The Furious 1 Best movies

Letty went from socking the dudes face to falling off a motorcycle and being caught by the Dom Toretto in Fast 9. Wow how times have change and strong they've gotten.

Its awesome how the people in the background are now coming out and telling their stories about 2000's car culture and how they built their cars.

My Generation hit the pinnacle in that time

that turbo spool of Letty's Silvia.. such amazing

Best furious movie ever I remeber I was a kid watching this movie those were the times

Supra and Honda 2000 are still beasts even today.
