Round four of the 2019 Drift Masters European Championship saw the series roll into the vibrant and exciting city of Riga in Latvia - more specifically the charismatic Bikernieku Circuit nestled in the heart of a wild forest. For drift drivers and fans alike, Riga holds a special place in their heart, and the 2019 layout is one of the fastest, most exciting and dangerous in the calendar. Underdog British driver Martin Richards would come out of nowhere to steal the show, beating all that stood before him, with Russian star Gocha Chivchyan finishing in second and Jack Shanahan completing the podium in third.

This is my first time hearing/seeing drift masters, gotta say it looks a shit ton better than Formula Drift! Almost everything about it from the drivers, to the crowd, to the production with the camera angles etc

*Gocha actually one of the best drift pilots in world! It beats M.Kawabata and D.Saito on Japan FIA D1 GP grand final. And lot of drifters from around the world enjoying Gocha’s winter drift cup in Krasnoyarsk: US drift series pilots, Japan pilots, POL, GER, UK! Seriously, Gocha is unusually talanted and mastery guy!*

@@user-ji3pl3jd5h такие крысинные подставы в рамках правил. Почему у гочи и цареградцева самые зрелищные заезды в рдсе, потому что они знают что они друг друга не подставят. А на замедлении ричердса комментаторы в недоумении, а с трибун слышно уууууу. Победа ли это?, по правилам да. но...
Martin braked, the opponent had to slow down and lose the trajectory. Isn't that a violation? Where are the judges looking?

He didn’t brake he threw more angle which slowed him down, just like Shanahan against the Polish kid!

Richards decelerated in the middle of the last corner after using handbrake in the final lead. It's a non-chasable run in any other drift series. In any case it was a great event in Latvia.

no game. drift pilots dont use any kind of simulators because there is no point since you dont know tasks for the race. imagine situation when you train with simulator for a week then come to the track and judges tell you the track configuration and run tasks which are different from what u`ve been training.

Ik it's quite late, but if you'll watch closely, in last run at last corner Martin have used handbrake that caused his car to slow down, although he had a nice line. Russian boy just had to brake, otherwise, the cars would have met.

@@motopiknik Феликс Читипаховян на стриме заметил, что Ричардс на последней дуге дёрнул ручник (что было видно) где его дергать нельзя, поэтому это привело к развороту Гочи. Но это решение лежит на ответственности судей.
