I don't understand the issue with Nymphia wearing banana conceptual looks. She's only worn it a handful of times this season while most of her other looks were very different. Each runway had a different silhouette. No one gives Trixie a hard time for wearing pink with blonde hair so why are people tripping over Nymphia's signature look?

Honestly, this fandom is so scared to say anything bad about dark-skinned queens for fear of being dogpiled and called a racist, but no one says anything when people are blatantly racist about the asian queens. Sapphira being the mature (as in older & doing drag for awhile) black queen automatically made her some kind of messiah for half the fanbase and RuPaul, but Nymphia was free game despite having not only an impressive rep in Taiwan, but also an obvious amount of talent and experience. Not only did Sapphira wear that goddamn blue MORE than Nymphia wore bananas or even yellow, but she also reused the same silhouette at least 3 times on the runway. So tired. But she's the older respected queen of the season so she can do no wrong, of course. Edit: Y'all accusing me of racism for CALLING OUT RACISM is so fucking hilarious. The hate on Nymphia for the bananas is wild considering she barely has done it, and her looks are always incredible when she does it. But just to show here is a break down of the percentages of her wearing bananas and her wearing yellow in 23 different looks shown this season: (4 banana looks) 23/4=17.4% (8 yellow looks) 23/8=26.1%-34.8% Includes promo look, memoir cover/interview looks. *not included: mini challenge/rusical/ snatch game/ look of the dancer in the makeover…and outfit reveals counted as one look so there is no accusing anyone of being biased. 2 looks were slightly yellow but still included for its intended purposes thats why the percentage in yellow category varies. I know many queens whose looks, looked the same more than half of the runway, and not well done. Nymphia hasn’t even done 25% and everyone makes it seem like that’s all she did. Statistic data shows otherwise. She turned out every outfit and even her banana runways were insanely good and she gave VARIETY.

And it really is the fact that her package was so well thought out otherwise which makes it baffling. You knew you'd do bananas for entrance and for finale. Maybe ok to do it for the reveal runway cause the concept is there (and those wigs were just amazing). At least cut the True Colors and just make it about yellow? Her Josephine Baker banana skirt interpretation was not that exceptional and it has been done multiple times (and better, at least by Fiercalicious)

To Nymphia's credit, none of he banana looks were similar. They had different silhouettes, fabrics, styles, ...The only thing they had in common was the banana theme. I feel like that in itself is pretty impressive

to me, I think it was supposed to be like "oh you want me to take my ears out? so I'll rip them off and make them into a crown", but Dawn-style. The feathers on the sides of the head look like blood gushing out while the hat with the ears was lifted by the hair that somehow grew up under it. In my humble opinion, Nymphia Wind had the best look of the night and I love how she elevates her look each time.

why are they not understanding that it's the finale, ofc nymphia's final look has something to do with her brand... LIKE?

It's not just yellow looks, it's shouting out yellow, it's wearing yellow in confessionals, it's the fucking jane goodall impression (BECAUSE I WONDER WHAT SHE'S ASSOCIATED WITH THAT INVOLVES YELLOW BANANAS), it's every damn thing. Let's not gaslight ourselves here. She walked in in a banana look, wore 3 more banana outfits including this one, wore yellow for the doll runway, also wore yellow/banana themed outfits for many performances + all her workroom outfits and made sure to include banana references in every possible occasion. I love her but it does get tired.

i guess im the only one with no qualms with Nymphia's banana frenzy. Like yes, we've seen it a lot, but she's been doing it so exceptionally well. She's not doing it haphazardly like Tina Burner's fire, or Lemon's lemon

Just a thought.... Why is everybody so mean with Nymphia and yellow, but nobody gives a shit about Sapphira's SAPPHIRE blue branding and wearing the same blue everytime? I dont understand the branding difference and why didnt they call out both of them or none of them? Personally I dont mind them and their colours, I love their art, I just dont understand... because yeah, Nymphia gave us yellow and banana, but its always a serve and always differs from the previous ones. You have to consider when the majority of these episodes were filmed, they didn’t know much about the contestants. And also they did “deal with it” by stating their piece and moving on, as it’s one thing to acknowledge and appreciate the contextual and symbolic meaning of a garment, and it’s another thing to discuss and enjoy other aspects of a garment (visual appeal, uniqueness, craftsmanship, etc.). From these videos, it seems like they’re judging these pieces from a more superficial standpoint

For me the most memorable finale dress is Violet’s when she came out to pass on the crown. The excellence, brilliance, creativity,and the surprise…it has not ever been surpassed.
