My family is very supportive, but when I asked them for fashion designing, they didn't agree but they agreed after going through a lot of convince but they was still very angry that I was wasting my time in fashion designing , I didn't complete my graduation in bsc kyunki bhaut mushkil say family maane the.... And now my family is feeling proud.. They came to understand that fashion designing is different from normal tailor ☺

I literally got chills when you said that the industry is the most welcoming one in the country. I'm in my final year of nift and I honestly don't want college to end. I've had my best years in nift, people are so loving and welcoming of each other here regardless of your gender, sexuality, background or personality. I am just a teenager. I have always love drawing clothes but now I understand that's called fashion designing . My dream is to show indian culture into Paris fashion week ..I truly hope indian cultural can be worn by all around the world

Have you heard about the IKSV.... It is the Art college which have many Art streams like singing dancing, fashion designing theatre and fine arts Fees of one semester is only 5k And it is asia's firt Art University in India It ia goverment college that's why the fees is very low. You should search in Google about it and if you want to become fashion designer so it is really very good University for that

Lemme share my story as well Really got interested into fashion designing from 11th standard when I was doing coaching for IIT JEE , (was never really good at it ) , then after giving JEE mains got a rank of about 1 lakh , definitely was not going to get any of the govt colleges , didn't gave nift , 1 month into engineering and I finally decided to fight against all odds and talked to my father , he is still not convinced yet I will finally get my course changed Tomorrow in the University , let's see how well does it go tom , I will come back and update it then 💁🏻‍♂️

I graduated this year. And my whole family is discussing wt's nxt for me. I wanna become a fashion designer but I knew very well they won't let me. So I didn't tell them. Few days ago I told them wt I want and yh as expected they rejected. They told me that 'when ppl hear that I'm studying fashion they will look down at me'. My parents think fashion designers is not a proper job that I can get. I don't understand them actually, being a doctor or an engineer is not only the thing that someone can be successful and every job hv it's own value. I study and work is not to show off to others or something. So why should I care abt wt others will think. I promised myself no matter wt I'll fight for it but now I feel like losing hope. Hey I'm also in engineering.. is fashion designing a good career??

I very well know how most parents force their kids to go for fields like medical and engineering but i personally never have had such a problem. I am extremely grateful that my parents have always supported me throughout all my choices, like taking up arts and following my desire and passion in entering this industry. My father recently admitted the fact that he used to think that if i took up science it would be better but soon gave up on this myth and let me decide on what i wanted to pursue. I am 16 years of age and in class 11 right now and I will definitely try to do as good as i possibly can and get into this industry. Hii I am from NIFT kolkata, graduated in 2018 Everything u mentioned about the fashion designing profession is correct and I appreciate the way u enlightened people about it . But in my college even the highest grade holders were paid like 25k per month and that’s not worth the admission charges and the energy we invest in that 4 yrs . Salary wise this profession isn’t worth but you are creative and have passion for it please pursue it . Tbh I am Still not satisfied with the salary pay scale for the designers

Agree with Ur words di That' the biggest problem is indian education system what has been marked by the ppl This is my story . M practicing for bachelor of fine art's exam , my parents nd siblings always ask , what is scope in this nd what will u do after this , whatever I want to do after this I have plans for that but still I don't speak too much on this topic whenever somebody ask to me " what will u do " . My parents are supporting me only because I do hard work as much as I can do for this. They just see me nd say let her do whatever she want at least she won't be disappointed from our side in future. But There's a problem among everyone around here even my mom nd bro aslo say this ( actually I hadn't be able to crack my enterence exam from last 2 years this is third year " m slow , m not lazy only my hand is slow , m covering my timing day by day ) they say first do graduation then u do whatever u want but if did graduation , so they won't allow me to do this . This is my passion , I do never think to earn , I just want to work in expo to show my passion . I know " khi na khi vo bhi shi h " But my work is glowing the day another day still , nd my teacher is always there for me to encourage me , only think ppl around here they don't know about it but the thing they always say " Why Don't U Do Graduate , Isko Graduation krwa do. Uff this graduation word is like "fasi ka fanda" for me . I know it's very long but aaj Dil ki baat puri bol Dali , feel soooooo relief . Actually i am so happy today coz i am a science pcb student but i wanted to be fashion designer since childhood so i asked my parents about it for NIFT cllg nd they agreed without any hesitation nd i asked them multiple times in past too they agreed but with hesitation nd i said about my goal to many elders in my family about dropping pharmacy nd applying for nift nd they were all surprised nd happy nd it gave me best satisfaction before my bday nd it id kinda gift for me they dunno but it is for me nd also everything happened before my bday so it gives me more happiness that i will start my new life after 9 june nd a more satisfied nd calm one thats it ! ITS JUST MY EMOTION lol💜being medical student i will do nift after my 12th no prblm guyss I WILL ENJOY MY NIFT STUDIES AFTER 1 YR!💃👍

I am going to apply entrance exam for NIFT ❤️🔥 fashion designing ... Very useful videos .. 🙏🏻

Di you have not mentioned about your FIT education which uh did after nift what if we are not financially not able to take the expenses of new York then how would we expect salary as you told about in this video...?

Just today I was confused about can I do it . My parents allowed me for it though they personally don't like it . So I was little bit confused whether I can do it or not as they gave a chance but now I'm really confident about my self after looking this video ❤thanku so much

Thank you sharing Shivangi.. I have given master's interview for NIFT MFTech and I am waiting for results.. I was confused as everyone around are not happy as I am changing my career from IT to fashion technology.. your video just answered the questions asked by my parents and well wishers..

@@meenamathi2019 I think some basics are taught in this course, as it is a course for people from engineering background. When doing the course if we aren't aware of some basics, I think the professors, seniors will guide or recommend from where to learn.
