Farther Along by Clarence Sexton and Temple Baptist Church

Музыка

Listen to Pastor Clarence Sexton sing this solo of a popular hymn by W.B. Stevens and J.R. Baxter, "Farther Along." At the chorus the choir and congregation joins in. After a time of hand-shaking, Pastor Sexton tells the story of how he learned to sing.

I wish so much that we had a church in my area that still sings the traditional songs, the traditional way. So tired of the modernism, I wish we could just get back to what works. Very well done. I hope the good folks in this church realize how fortunate they are to still have a pastor and church like this.

I enjoy visiting Temple Baptist Church, our daughter goes the The Crown College of the Bible there in Powell. Brother Sexton is a gracious humble man, who always has a smile on his face, and when he speaks to you (even as busy as he is) he always actively listens. One of my heros in the faith for sure.!

I just listen by way of U Tube and I am blessed. This is my second time "tuning in." I just got my hymn book and sang right along with them and it was a wonderful experience.

Praise the Lord that there are still a few churches and men of God that are spirit filled in the way & the type of songs they sing. This is lacking so very much today at the vast majority of churches & within the hearts of God's preachers anymore and sadly if it doesn't find a way back in our nation from a spiritual standpoint we will never be what we once were as a nation.

This is great...makes me miss the services of the Temple Baptist Church so much. Could you upload more of Pastor Sexton leading the congregation. Some suggestions; Christ Liveth in Me, Here Is Love, Grace That Is Greater Than All My Sins, Sweeping This Way, and Glory to God, Hallelujah!
