I absolutely loved this show! Definitely underrated. Good stories, expectable FX and I liked the cast. Definitely had a crush on Aeryn Sun back then :)

Watched it as a kid... And being a sci - fi nerd it easily got me hooked... Awesome show, highly recommended. To newcomers - give it some time to stretch its legs. It's a strong story and character driven show. You will love the cast and the chemistry they have. Each of them flawed but easy to like. It might be hard on the eyes sometimes, but... In their defense at points the show was barely kept from falling apart due to shoe string budget and nearly died, but barely saved in order to be completed.

Tis a shame the only VFX breakdown was the small extra feature from Season 4...

Mankind will destroy himself long before he is able to reach such velocities, or even open a wormhole if he continue as he is. It's time for mankind to grow up. I know that I sound a little like my icon, Albert Einstein, and Hawkins, but we need to wake up.

That is a classic case of Hollywood getting technology grossly wrong… Prototype spacecraft with no pressure suits to start with…

This wasn't a Hollywood production really and they were going to go with a more scientific suit, but they chose not to so that you could see John's face for dramatic purposes. It's a pretty contentious point among the creators as to whether you favour scientific accuracy or dramatic performance. I think they chose rightly. Especially in the first episode where you need that emotional immediacy with John before he sets out on his adventures through space and time.

It was a reasonably low budget show and they wanted to show the actor's face... It also involved aliens, a living ship, and bouncing off dimensional branes for certain types of FTL within the first hour; realism was not the highest calling of Farscape.

@@Sephiroth144 Pressure suits usually show the full face…(look up the Apollo and Shuttle launch suits…). I think half assed production design is a more likely cause…

Bro expects realism from a space opera. This ain't hard science fiction, bub.

A true warm hole would be just that. A "hole". Not a tunnel.

  • @Jason_Wilhelm

In modern conception yes but the name sake comes from the idea of tunnels through space time like worms through an apple. The modern conception is more like what they called folding space in older sci-fi. For writing all that matters is internal consistency not accuracy to real world.

Lemme "umm akshully" your "umm akshully". It wouldn't be a hole, it would be a hole the shape of a 3 dimensional sphere. Circles are usually holes, not spheres. Closest to describing wormhole openings/exits would be "singularity".
