its so out of character for Pilot, that in my head i just say the voice actor was just channeling his other character Captain Crais.

@@dustinherk8124 It's really not that out of character. Pilot always had an attitude even as early as the very first season. He's perfectly capable of being salty and mean-spirited, especially as he gets exasperated and annoyed by the crew's antics and ridiculous behaviour. He's a servile being by nature, yes, and always helpful and polite when people come to him with their problems. But he's not a saint. In particular, Pilot takes threats to himself and to Moya especially personal, and is more than capable of taking a degree of vindictive enjoyment out of giving a raving lunatic their just desserts.

@@Terralventhe even more. (spoiler. but if you are this far into the show you should know this) pilot litterally took an evil pact to replace a still living pilot knowing that that pilot would have to be killed.)

On a commercial jet, you should be worried if YOUR pilot laughs like this... :O

You know, this was one of those small moments that was awesome because we do get to see Pilot (one of my top five favorite characters) really cut loose in one of those rare moments.

I just found this to make sure I wasn’t misreading the scene. Glad to know, it was in fact a very maniacal laugh, and also was frelling hilarious.

Damn, Pilot! XD This is just so out of character for him, but it's hilarious anyway. But then again, he did try to strangle Aeryn to death once.

Can you really blame him for trying to strangle her? She was part of the Peacekeeper team that killed the original pilot. He must have felt betrayed beyond measure, considering she was his friend and then he finds out that she killed the original pilot.

re-watching this for the first time since my childhood. This one bit put such a grin on my face.

There are a few times where they forgot to pitch-shift Lani's voice when he played Pilot. That's amusing. Also, watch ST:TNG episode "Tin Man" to see a proto-Leviathan concept before FS was written. Great show, this, though. Loved it first run, and still do in reruns.

I don't think this was out of character at all; the first time I watched I watched this I was actually expecting him to do something like this. That was one jerk too many trying to kill Moya... enough is enough :)

The sinister laugh we all have when someone finally gets their come uppings. Been there a couple times in life. Being so out of character made it feel creepy to see pilot like that which is what made it great! Too bad we dont have real sci-fi flicks like these anymore. Everything got so wokerized and PC... This kind of show, or Lexx, would never fly today. :(

bit of a late response but she was the cause of a ion storm, I think it was called, to make a long story short it was homing in on her and got her in the end, not in the way she would've preferred though
