I joined the Marines to escape this gem

I grew up there and graduated FHS class of '96. You definitely were in the bad areas. Just like any major city there is good and bad. The good areas are by Country Club, most of Piedra Vista HS school district, on the San Juan River or Animas River, and down the hill from the mall. I miss it there so much and would love to go back. I'm in Michigan now and miss the warm sunny days, all the festivals, Connie Mack World Series, National High School Finals Rodeo, and All the hometown football games. You have all 4 seasons and all are mild. Yes, there is crime, but most SW cities have crime including Albuquerque, Phoenix, Las Cruces, El Paso, etc. I would go back in a heartbeat if I could find a good paying job in my field.

In the mid 80's I lived in Albuquerque and I remember driving all the way to Farmington to pick up a friend. Got there around 3am and it was like a ghost town and tried finding help to get instructions to the place I needed to go. I did find a Allsups convence store and the clerk helped. It took me a couple hours but I finally found the place.

might be going to look at a house around there to move too. have cousins there and up in Durango. my mom and dad when alive lived right outside of Durango.

Demi Moore has a house on 30th her and Bruce Willis came down when her mother passes Bryan Cranston had a house here as well but sold it when breaking bad came to an end he lived a few houses away from my uncle

My daughter use to live there, bad, bad people that were terribly mean abd controlling her, police were of no help :( My brother lived there as a child, had to move because of stuff happening between different people and cultures. My daughter use to work at wing stop, liked it.

I agree with you Farmington NM is terrible people and terrible place along with GALLUP NM AND ALBQ NM in all I would just move out of the state and start fresh cause there are better people out there!!!

It is a nice town but the majority of people there will manipulate you and lie about you most of all just do anything to get rid of you if they don't like you at all.. Most of all when it comes to fitting into this town is being some religious group or whatever from my experience my friend joined the mormon church thought he was making friends in all and attending there classes and services this Bishop who's in charge of that singles ward which is part of the mormon church and then that effin bishop named Kevin and the wife Karen snitched and lie about my friend saying he was being disruptive of church services and there classes other stuff here he was very dedicated to the effin aholes hates them for what they did and now he's glad out of that effin town cause people are just mean inconsiderate too very shady people!!!! One time when he was working for the census in 2009 those effin people who were part of the mormon church and he didn't know they were part of it said some things to the supervisor got him fired yeah there really bad bad bad bad people I say!!!! Even goes the same with every employer in that town if they like they will either keep and if not they do anything in there power to get rid of you!!!! From what I herd my friend he had to leave like within the two years of living there rethink what he wants to do and couldn't find any other job so he went back idk why and from there he would do the same thing again but I guess after all that bs happen he knows that people around that town are ruthless and inconsiderate yeah apparently will look down on you just because of what happen. It goes the same for Albuquerque and Gallup NM too those people are shady af I say will set you up too and in the long run I would say NEW MEXICO is just horrible state to live in even though me and my friend were born here yet we had enough so anyways looking to move out of the state never come back because of how terrible the people are and how they run things even though we have our chili in all I still would live elsewhere and get the hell away from NM. Yeah in my opinion from what I herd my friend he said he wishes that he never moved to Farmington in 2007 because of how in intimidating they are manipulative they are but I guess after being home school not having the high school experience he just wanted to attend san juan college try to get something out of it and guess what nothing nothing nothing nothing. Believed me when my friend tried to get CNA certificate or any course those instructors would do anything to fail him and yet nothing has been done about it but oh well whatever I guess all I can say if you like the town and feel its right for you then yeah go there. As for my friend and my thoughts on it I wouldn't go there be around that area in my opinion just based off my friends horrific experience!!!!! P.s. these people in Farmington work with other towns like GALLUP NM OR ALBQ NM cause they either have friends there or relatives or yet maybe lovers!!! One last thing when my friend dated this guy supposedly live in GALLUP NM area but didn't know his family from part of shiprock nm area he was surprised to know that he dated a person from the four corners area and guess what turns the guy he was dating is user has a lover from GALLUP NM so apparently if these two people from different towns want to love be with each other let it be so be it I guess Farmington NM AND GALLUP NM people are meant to be together and meanwhile my friend hates that person wishes he never met them!!!!!!!!

Very true. Mormons are very two-faced and are most likely going to stab you in the back, so be careful around them.
