Farmers for Healthy Soil: Northridge Farms
The Horsnell farm-family in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley believe that healthy soils are what is going to save the world. From a base of cover crops and incorporating animal manures, they are now adding compost as part of their orchard tree planting and ongoing care and realizing a huge positive change to their soils. Their efforts are yielding an extra element of delicious to their honey crisp apples along with improved yields.
