I really enjoyed this video. I’m 62 years old and my dad farmed with 2 M farmall’s back in the 68,69 until he bought a new 3020 JD. The M would pull a 16 disc harrow. I remember plowing late at night with my dad on one and I’m on the other. It was really cold that night plowing and I had school the next day and I would see the lights of the M headed my way thinking my dad ready to head home but then he would hit the brakes and back the other way. Finally after another hour my dad pull up on her s M and stop me. He got off his tractor and the muffler and exhaust glowing and he lit his cigarette off the red glow. He ask me if I was ready to go home and I said yes. He said well take off home on your tractor. We were about 6 miles from home. I remember pulling the M in fifth gear and headed home. The m would fly in fifth gear. My dad and I often talk about farming with the M. My community during those day’s just about every house or neighbor had a M in the shed. We also planted with a 230 farmall and he still owns it. Thanks for the great video.

Gosh. Did this bring back the memories. I hayed summers with my two cousins and my uncle. One summer we put up 52 haystacks. My older cousin Bob ran the M with the "farmhand". My cousin Roy and I each ran an H with a buck rake on the front. My uncle Martin was on the stack stacking the hay. This took place outside of Billings, Montana during the fifties. I am eighty one years old. My other rancher uncle ran Deere's which offered a continuous source of friendly bander. 😊. We referred to the Deere's as "popping Johnies". Thank you for the memories.

Starts right up with just a touch of choke. Idles and runs up like it's in perfect tune right out of the gate. Great oil pressure, no leaks, everything functioning. Couldn't be better. Good job!

She looks good in the sunlight, fellas! Sounds good, too! The meats on back look real good, too! The M's typically need a little choke off the get-go in my experience. Lot of displacement to fill. Doesn't smoke as bad as the H, but then again I was running 2-cycle in the H! LOL. "It'll knock once it warms up!" They always do, don't they? Lol. Nice work. Let's get her decals on and take her for a rip!

Beautiful sound to hear your fresh rebuilt engine crank up. I still can hear the M I rebuilt on its first start. One person won bets because I started it by hand cranking her. She hit and ran on the fourth pull. There ain't nothing like it.

The Super M sounds sweet, nice rebuild guys! It's nice to see someone that knows how to set things up BEFORE trying to start the motor. The number if times we see people having to swing the dizzy, change the leads or pour gallons of fuel down the intake and struggling to get it to fire after a "rebuild" is beyond a joke. Loving the build series, just wish I had the room to do one myself!

Damn that tractor looked good in the garage but even better outside. Runs as good as it looks too. It's a lot of work to rebuild and paint a tractor but Sr has a tractor both of you can be proud of. Good choice not putting the loader back on, sometimes setbacks are a good thing. Now you need a plow and a disc all painted up to pull behind it. Hahaha Keep smiling. PS I did hook up my snowplow and even used it. far too early for that.

Yes, there’s nothing quite like the relief and excitement of hearing an engine you tore down to the bare castings and rebuilt with your two hands roar to life; got to experience it myself in Vo-tech school with an older E-250 box truck with a modular 5.4L gas V8; setting the timing chains on those is not for the novice.

This is a red (International Red) letter day. The payoff was worth the wait. Just a bit anti-climatic but only in the sense that it did exactly what I expected it would do. I was thinking how her current state would compare to when she was brand new in the dealer showroom. You did such an exacting job on every component that she has to be as good as new and perhaps a tad better in some regards. She started right up and could have done a days work without touching the timing. The carb will always need a tweak after a rebuild but she ran and idled like a champ at the initial settings. You said you weren’t going for a show tractor but she could hold her own in some shows I’ve attended. She’ll be the prettiest girl dragging a tumblebug and collecting a layer of dust! Be proud of what you’ve done. You get as good as you give and you two gave it your best. 😎👍👏👀🇱🇷
