    I always loved the low growl of the old Super M. It had great lugging power. The soil being plowed looks really nice.

    Very nice looking M Farmall. First tractor I drove at 11 years old. We also had a 3 bottom 14" case plow the M could pull the plow in 3rd gear. We also had a MD Farmall..

    Thanks for commenting Lloyd. I read that IH engineers expected the life of the M to be 7 years. They sure we're able to exceed that!

    The lower grill insert was on back order. We have it on now. We wanted to break in the engine before winter. We've found that tractors broke in on a load always start and run better.

    Farmall lift all hydraulic pumps are very versatile and dependable. Not live though. Standard is power up and gravity down but there's a factory valve for power up and down.if you have a two way cylinder and don't need power down you can just plumb a return line into the filler neck or just take off the hose for down side. Lots off things can be done with it.

    Sam Boss A good resource is the Red Power Forum. Here's the address: www.redpowermagazine.com/forums/forum/4-general-ih/ IH called their letter series tractor hydraulic systems lift all hydraulics. Search the Redpower forum for M Farmall hydraulics. Many people also refer to them as a belly bump because of its location underneath the tractor between the bell housing and transmission. they are still readily available from tractor salvage yards and at antique tractor swap meets.

    Great tractors just not very fuel efficient

  • @sean11959

    @sean11959

    3 жыл бұрын

    No, they aren't fuel efficient for sure. On high load jobs like plowing we use about 3 gallons an hour. My Dad who grew up working with M's said you would need to refuel mid day to stay running for the afternoon. Latter on he bought the diesel version MD which was able to work a full day on one tank of fuel.
