Hello Simon, Happy New Year, and thank you for your latest instalment. You're right about the weather, it's been shocking. I'm a postie, and for weeks now, we seem to be constantly drying clothes out only to see them sodden wet through again. The tornado you mentioned was in Stalybridge and blew someone's house roof off! Goodness, imagine that! Thank you for showing us your air rifle. That's some serious kit, and although I like, for example, your HW77 in 12ftlb, your FAC and slugs are in my humble, less experienced opinion, on another level. Those slugs look like a right thump! Your shooting, both Magpies and rats was absolutely serious and more than just lights out. Great stuff, Simon, and best wishes.

Bought myself a pard 007sp lrf as an early Christmas present, had 3 rats off the log pile last night and a pest solutions mate getting me out on a local farm or 2. Start calving soon so I’ve got to make the best of my time while it’s a bit quieter for now.

I hope you have a great new year Simon! For me, with a CF rifle, second focal plane is fine, but with air rifles, the first focal scopes have been a real asset in making shots from close to 150 yards out. I have the Helix 6x24 FFP on my 30 cal Impact. It's been a decent scope so far and I have had it for 3-or 4 years now. Love my Zan slugs. They actually expand on stuff as small as birds even at long range.

Ye to be fair Ridin i am old fashioned and when i go on about FFP scopes i kind of the mean the ones like 25 years ago where the cross hairs were either to thick zoomed in or to thin zoomed out but these days they do kind of make them better if i be really honest.

Thank you Charles ye the reason i have got this King is for the crows next year where the 223 is too loud so it could be good and hope fully i should have this rifle set to 150 yards even a bit more but i have to do a lot of testing first just to see what its capable of, but ye looking forward to putting it through its paces once this weather finally dry's up Charles, Happy New Year pal.

Ok, so I’m not against pest control at all, and videos like yours are my favourite bedtime relaxing viewing, but you mentioned something I’ve wondered about for a long time. You say these slugs don’t pass through, but so so many videos are with regular pellets, and headshots, with obvious pass throughs. So don’t you think that over time, all that lead around feeding areas is pretty bad? Especially around chicken coups?
