Waking up this morning as always, checking if Fatima posted on KZread...but today was different, I had to find out she is no longer here. She was a phenomenal woman, kindness and caring for the next human being. She taught people what it is to be a human, caring for another. Not being selfish. I made a dish of hers last night and this morning I was on tears. I will forever remember her, I will carry with me what she taught in the kitchen and as a person. R.I.P FATIMA SYDOW. My condolences to her dad,her siblings, oupa and her man. May the Almighty comfort you all in this time.

My prayers go out to your family. My wife has stage 4 ovarian cancer. Over the last 18 months I’ve cooked Fatima’s recipes for her. I felt like Fatima was my sister and I laughed and cried through her journey. Although I’m in Gauteng my roots are firmly in the Cape. My thoughts are with you in this time and I’m celebrating the joy she brought to our lives. God bless you all.
