Did this ever happen that someone has to stay outside campus due to unavailability of hostel rooms? Because in annexure it was written that hostel allotment is subjected to availability of rooms.

I have not seen any such cases where students are not getting a hostel. But it may happen as no of students are getting increased now.

Sir, I have completed msc from NIT durgapur in this year. In my bsc my gpa is low (6.9 out of 10) and in msc i have secured 8.8 cgpa, also I am first class first in msc. But i have one year gap from bsc to msc. Is there any chance for me get the pmrf fellowship through the direct entry mode? Please reply.

Yes you can apply, year gap won't effect much. And your cgpa might be an issue to get the scholarship, but if you have good paper and recommendations letter that also won't matter much.

No there is any such criteria. But few profs used to take attendance in class. He might look into it while doing final grading.

Nope, they cant. You can skip hostel and stay outside. That is possible. Married apartment is there but that is for Ph.D. Students.

Hi sir, after document verification, is it mandatory to stay in campus or we can start staying in hostels once the class starts (as there is a gap of 9-10 days between document verification and commencement of classes)?

It's your choice, you can stay leave whatever you want.

Even if you don't stay in hostel you have to pay a big percentage of money semester wise(approx 15k) So no one thought of that option

Bhaiya do IISc provides room for parents during whole admission process ??? Big problem for students who are comes from far away.

Unfortunately NO. You can stay hotels near yeshwantpur station. There are many hotels near the station and it's 20 min away(walking) from campus

how is your mess food ?, Also in which mess the best food available at iit kgp ?

At IIT-Kgp all the mess are almost equal. I personally find them ok ok, not so great.

Sir my home is in Dum Dum so I can travel daily to IIT Kalyani using local train, Is it compulsory to stay in hostel? Or I can go by by myself everyday? Please reply Sir

Depends on the iit. In general it shouldn't be compulsory. You can stay at home and attend from home if you want .

Will we get a single bed room or double,triple? In 1st and 2nd year?

Depends on which IIT you are joining. Single very tough to get now. Mostly 2/3 sharing.

They took care of it very well. Monthly once we used to have pest control of the mess for the full day.

You can, only issue is no of hostels are limited. If it's free you can get it.

Its a issue in all IITs now. Students joining is increasing and infrastructure is not built. Tum waiting list me ho means most likely you have to share room with others or it will be allocated later, not immediately. Better ask at hostel office during joining day.

Our course will start from 1st august but i am not able to attend from 1st august instead i would join on 9th august after document verification on 19th july due to family problem, can u tell me will it create any problem for me , and how i will cover all the missed classes. See missed classes is not the issue. Issue would be subject choosing. Initially two weeks you are supposed to attend most of the classes and choose 3-4 of them. So if you won't attend then you won't know the course structure and all. What you can do is ask your friends or may be see course website and have an idea. That's the only thing... nothing much you will miss content wise.

@@theiiscboy306 you cab talk with few seniors. Most of the cases, in first sem students choose what most of their friends are choosing. So be in touch with them and the senior. And if any lecture has past recorded video, have a look.

Yes. I remember i had shown my polio certificate. I dont know what needs to be done if you don't have that. Contact local center where you had taken them. They are needed unfortunately.

Its not mandatory, but students prefer to stay in hostel. And about HRA, in IIT-kgp they dont give HRA. I am not sure about other IITs

No you can stay outside as well, but still hall management fee you have to pay. Hence everyone prefers to stay at hostel

Yes, all IITs and IISc has married apartments, but the number is limited and queue is longer. So most of the married scholars prefer to stay outside of the campus.

Yes same doubt. I have done all medical tests in the annexure except vaccinations. Also all those vaccinations mentioned takes atleast 3 months as the give only 2 vaccinations at max in a month

Lots of questions let me answer one by one : @Mamdi: First of all thank you for appreciating my content. Please do share. 1. yes you can stay at the hostel after certificate verification. On that day your hostels will be allocated and from that day you can stay there and use the mess food. 2. Proofs of the vaccination you need to submit if its already done. Or else you need to do it from the center iisc will refer you. @Santosh: Don't worry you can do vaccinations after joining as well. They will give you time for that. @ Raju: yes there are some health clinics where you can take vaccinations. Finally congratulations to all of you. Welcome to IISc.
