Thanks father. This revealed to me my faults. However, sometimes i try to correct erroneous belief or blasphemy, but do it too harshly and feel guilty. Sometimes i just dont talk, then feel also guilty, sometimes i fall to that Vanity, sometimes to pride and self love. I dont have discrement what to do. Sometimes i just pray and dont talk, but still feel guilty for not speaking up. Very confusing sometimes

If someone compliments me on something that is easy for me, I despise it, because I know that I can do better. If someone compliments me on something that is hard for me, I appreciate it, because I put a lot of effort into it. So, ironically, the worse I am at something, the more I enjoy a compliment, feeling accomplished, even though it's something that I am actually bad at. Pride is a somewhat comical but tragic type of insanity.

Father, is the following statement true ? : "I don't love God, because if I loved God I would stop sinning". I confessed this to my confessor today and he scolded me, saying that I do love God. He told me not to say this again in my confession. Please help, i'm confused.

@@vaska1999 Thanks for helping. I need an answer from a priest though. Would you mind asking your priest about my question and tell me what he said ? To be precise, I need to know whether the saints and holy fathers have ever taught something like this. Because the reason I confessed this phrase is because I heard a monk explain this and it made sense in my mind. I'm really confused right now and I need good priests to give me an answer. I'll wait for you, if you are willing to ask your priest, thanks.

@Joseph1207 don’t listen to her. For one, this isn’t for her to answer. Number two, her response was ignorant and prelest driven. No it’s not quite as simple as we keep sinning, but that we cannot reciprocate perfect love for God if we lack humility and perfect love for our neighbour. Forgive me, this is why St Paul forbade women to attempt to provide spiritual instruction like this. She’s not a nun or an eldress. Your priest shouldn’t be saying such things, but instead should be encouraging you to deepen your love for God. None of us love Him as we ought. Yes, it would mean not returning to sin, but it would also mean being attentive to prayer and not condemning others. The message I gave was drawing from St Maximos the Confessor in the Philokalia

This mixing up the facts and teachings to secure more followers or conversions is appalling. This is why I went to the Orthodox faith. You can't change GOD's word to suit your audience. Its lies.

You left because you’re ignorant. Not because you understand anything. What’s appalling is that you want to worship a book rather than Christ and you want to believe Christ’s Church needed a man-made reformation. All you Protestants are spiritual atheists who are too afraid of losing paschal’s religious wager.

@@living_orthodox I think you misread my post or perhaps I miscommunicated it. Let me try again, the distortion of God's word IN OTHER RELIGIONS is why I WENT TO the Orthodox faith. I am by no means a protestant & yes I am very ignorant. My entire life I've been lied to by Baptist, Methodist, Protestant, etc. churches. When I discovered the Orthodox church, God developed in me hunger I had never experienced. Which is why I'm here, watching your videos & others like it. I am not a Protestant Spiritual Atheist & I do not want to worship a book. I'm sorry if my first message wasn't clear or was confusing. Oh & I KNOW that Jesus was born both God & man. 💞
