I mean, as an employee, it's common courtesy to facilitate the transition to whoever takes over your job if you have the time to do so. I can't imagine it would be any different for a church-based job.

One thing I'm noticing here, is that you've thought this through thoroughly. It's rare that people do that. Often the last thing we think of when moving to another place is finding a new church. God Bless. 😀👋

I appreciate your desire to get involved with a church family or community.That is so important. I can't imagine what it would be like to not have that support in times of joy and sorrow.

A college ministry sounds like an amazing idea for the area you’re moving to. So many amazing campuses around the Durham, Chapel Hill and Raleigh areas. The ability to bring the love of Jesus to so many is going to be amazing! I know you 2 will do great things in NC! (My home state) Welcome y’all!!

I remember the first vlog about transplant. Holding hands at the kitchen table. That vlog was so emotional. It took us all by surprise. How just getting the thought of it in your mind was so scary. So many thing's have happened since then. Time to adjust to that future time when a transplant will happen. Having a year or so to think about it I'm impressed how fully forward you are going into this next chapter of life. I see more clearly how this can be a adventure.

Think about caregiver chaplaincy and chronic illness ministry. I love you and may God bless you!

Hi. I think you should make an annual holiday "Ollie Boy" stuffed animal with a year date somewhere on the body so that folks can collect them every year. It would give them a reason to buy one yearly and it could help support your efforts. Blessings on your move. I, too, am moving to Raleigh, NC in 2 weeks for a job with the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Raleigh Triangle Chapter. (I'm type 1 for 30 years). I've lived in California pretty much my whole life and it's a BIG jump for me and my husband. Here we go! Peg

As a lifelong NC resident and patient of the UNC health care system, I am excited to welcome you to NC. I think you will really enjoy the variety of our state. Also, I love that you said fall as your move time. It can be quite hot here in the summer, so moving and transitioning in the fall sounds nicer that doing it in the dead heat. I feel blessed you have opened up your lives to us and I look forward to continuing to follow.

I am so excited for you Peter in building your KZread community. I would love to see not only sermon series, but also worship songs with you and Mary and other friends!!

I don't know if you two still go back and read your comments, yet I just would love to be able to have a weekly sermon from Peter online. With Mary's health issues being a pastor's wife in a church would be hard on her. You are a great team and I know you will continue to be a team in the future.

You will be very surprised when you get to the Raleigh/Durham area and find there aren’t a lot of southern accents. Haha. No one is actually from Durham. Also, when you’re in the area, check out the East Durham Bake Shop for some amazing baked goods and coffee. It’s my favorite shop in the city. It’s locally owned by a couple who lives in the area.

Hey! My husband is from Durham and his children went to the same high school that he did. Some people ARE from here and have sweet, soft, lovely little adorable accents :-D. It's a joy to live here! I hope, as I did, that the Freys too will find their home here.

I feel like a lot of the time I feel like we are going through the same kind of life events, or seasons. I’m moving in a month, and the unknowns are scary. I am not moving far from current location, but regardless change is overwhelming and exciting. Thank you for being you. I’m looking forward to seeing your new adventure!

Mary can I just say something that I have thought about since watching your videos. Your parents have done an outstanding job of raising you, your maturity and your positive attitude is admired by me. I cannot imagine having two children with a life threatening illness. But it is obvious they raised you with great faith, empathy and compassion. You and Peter are two terrific young adults that never complain and make me want to be a better person. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

It's so exciting! I'm so excited for you guys! I just had to downsize and was dreading having to give up my big house for a townhome. But then I found this unbelievable townhome with the most incredible renovations that's actually 500 square feet bigger than my house! (There's no yard or roof or snow shoveling etc). It was an unrealized dream come true and I couldn't wait to move in. I just did about 2 weeks ago and even though there are boxes everywhere, I LOVE it. I'm so comfortable and content. I can't wait for you guys to have the same thing and feel so cozy and settled in. You deserve it! I'll be right here watching, just as excited as you are! So grateful ❤️

So many of my favorite KZreadrs are in or coming to NC! Knorpp and South , Amy Maryon, Putting Fourth the Effort,The Frye Life and maybe next year Isaiah from Fathering Autism. Yes! I like calling North Carolina home.

Thank you for answering some of our questions. I used my phone’s Notes app to log funny things my 101-y/o dad said in 2017. I call it a “phlog.” I think I coined that word as I’ve not seen it anywhere. Dad died in December of 2017, but when I need cheering up, I’ll just read something I phlogged.

Good luck on the move. Me and my mom are also in transition. We are moving from our house we have lived in for 16 years in the suburbs of Baltimore to a condo in the city of Baltimore near my hospital to be closer to my hospital. I will be leaving my day program for the new adventures in the city. I am excited for new adventures and a new way of life.

I absolutely love North Carolina as my home, it hasn't everything from the mountains to the beach to city life!! I love all the small towns and history behind it too. Y'all are going to love it here!!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer our questions which I had been wondering about. I think you will love this next adventure but I know how daunting it can be. I love your embracing the new, knowing that you will make new friends in the new church and that your old friends will remain golden.
