I thought it strange that the Dr. Fapohunda on his own drafted the substitution for the 1999 Constitution without input from subject matter experts or the people he claimed to be drafting a constitution for. But why is this not on the mainstream media before now. I am hearing you concerning this matter for the first time. So why is this NINAS agenda not pushed and talked about all along? This is a very important issue. You need to speak up, and the Ninas leadership should talk more so that the youth can understand and we can support. Secondly, I think Fapohunda perpaps did this out of urgency and clear intention, I think you can bring him back to this earlier agreed collaboration. If we are silent then some people will hijack. Dont forget that the country needs this change urgently

For those of you who are not conversant with protocols in politics and only relies on intrigues, violence against legitimacy, and underhand games, the gentleman, Mr Fapohunda only initiated a path to resolution. Why criticize him?. What he's propounding is a middle ground for self governance of each region. Personally, my objection to his proposition is the division of the east into different regions. There should be one SE, SW, Central, FCT, NE, and NW. Are you easterners afraid of autonomy?. What are your political grievances, or what do you want apart from secession?. Let us be reasonable and be matured in our politics, else, we will lose this opportunity again, as we have lost in the first republic because of immaturity. THINK!. and grow WISE!!

Respond to the concrete issues raised about trying to write a Constitution that is not first discussed by the Constituent Component Peoples of Nigeria who the Territories and Sovereignties Conscripted by Colonial Fiat into the Union of 1914, which is now reinforced by the Military cum Caliphate Fiat of 1999 What is wrong with allowing the Peoples and Nationalities of Nigeria to decide: (1) Whether they wish to remain One Political Union, and if yes, (2) The Formations (Structure) and Terms of that Union. Do you build a house from the roof such that you can begin to carve out the dead Union of Nigeria into SE, SW, NE and such nonsense?. Even the States we have now, which are now being paraded as the “Federating Units” with a 68-Item Federal Legislative Exclusive List; how did we come about the States? How did we come about 774 LGs and how did LGs become the Third-Tier of Government in the warped Federation of Nigeria? Why not enlighten yourself about the issues being discussed or and what do you say to the fact that Akin Fapohunda stole the materials he is now distorting and bandying around from NINAS in 2018 ?

First, Fapohunda is not laden with the responsibility of changing the Nigerian constitution, he just acted as a responsible citizen, proffering solution. You are entitled to the same privilege, as a Nigerian. Second, his proposition as of this stage is in the planning/design, and not "building from the roof", as claimed by you. There's every room to make amendment, opening up conversation in regard to the topic. Thirdly, I think it it rather immature, politically, to suggest that he stole the idea from anywhere. The question should be, " can it work?. Even, a less bigoted language would have been, "borrowing the idea from other sources". It does not matter, as long as we have a solution. My conclusion to this response is that, if you keep an open mind, the question of referendum might as well be answered by Regional autonomy. Unless you shift away from "backtoaburi", you might not see other pleasant possibilities. If we fail to redress our past mistakes, the future is as bleak!. May we attain that maturity, speedily, and May God lift up Nigeria, considering our remorsefulness for our past lost chances. Ase Olodumare!. Iree o, my brother.

This guy is definitely illogical. It only takes one man to raise the issue of Independence before all others joined him. Nobody queried him among the 5o million Nigerians, then, that who sent him to propose. The resentment of this proposition itself cannot be denied. From a bigoted heart, Yoruba can never do anything that the easterners would support. Continue, see where that has led us from the first republic.
