A beautiful vintage car, a great restoration with Power Steering and Air Conditioning and WOW what a great color and paint job to go with this stylish sporty looking model, and BAM the new interior is the most. I want it!

The original Studebaker engines were not nearly as tall as these new Chevy LS engines. To keep from cutting the hood they had to really jack the front end up off the frame ruining the appearance and no doubt handling of the car. Lower the front end like it was designed in 63 and you would have a really great looking and running automobile.

And Dan had such a douchie attitude against the people and the car the entire episode. What a crook. Glad they were canceled.

Don't know how to break this to you, but unless this Avanti is some kind of "kit car" it is not an 83' because there is no such animal! The correct year would be 1963 which a typeo would explain but, the owner of the shop even said 1983, he may know more about restoring cars than I but again I say there is no 1983 Avanti! Fricking Studebaker has been out of business since 64 or something.

Many Avantis were made after '63 - read the history here: ateupwithmotor.com/model-histories/studebaker-avanti/ and here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avanti_(car)

I think it turned out beautiful. Studebaker went out of business in '63. Newman-Altman bought the rights to the car and continued to build them for several years till bought out by another buyer. We have a 1980 Avanti II and I love it. I do miss the front bumper on the one in the video. I wish we had the means to get a paint job as nice as the one they did. A good paint job on a fiberglass Avanti can cost 8 to $10,000 easy.

Why do these people have their cars done at Fantom Works and spend a fortune! These are not `money` cars and will never get their investment back.
