Hey Anchal, dystopian refers to a world where things are not at all ideal, instead they are most often very oppressive and the world is horrible to live in. Most of the dystopian fiction is "speculative fiction" as Margaret Atwood called it, which is when the things in the book might happen in the real world in a few years. Dystopian is the exact opposite of the word utopian which talks about an ideal world where everything is good and comfortable. Hope this helps.

A very good point. Don't buy the entire series. Same thing happened with me. I started reading Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy in my phone and 50 pages in, i started liking it so i bought an entire series and now I'm not able to get past the 3rd book. I had a huge difficulty reading the 2nd and 3rd and had to dnf it.

Can you perhaps give your thoughts on Emergence: Globe of Gravity? It is the first book of Artifacts of Atma, an epic fantasy series inspired by India. Speaking of Epic Fantasy, LOTR by Tolkien, The Eye of the World (Wheel of Time) by Robert Jordan, Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson - these are good starting points as well.

I recommend Ninth House & Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo. Its dark academia Urban fantasy. Its for adults. Kids don't read it!!
