FANTASMIC! IS BACK AT DISNEYLAND! The Nighttime Spectacular RETURNS! Monte Cristo at Blue Bayou
I went to Disneyland for the return of Fantasmic! on May 24, 2024. The show has been on hiatus since April 2023 after the dragon burned down. I had Blue Bayou for lunch, and got a great table right next to the water watching the Pirate boats go by.
For dinner, I tried the new Hot Honey Chicken Tenders from stage Door Cafe. Getting a spot for Fantasmic! was stressful and chaotic, we were told we couldn't stand in certain places to wait for a spot, but others were allowed to stand in areas where we were kicked out of because they ignored and disobeyed the Cast Members and security guards.
I wish the rules of the standby areas were more clear, and I wish they were enforced fairly. The people that broke the rules and ignored/disobeyed Cast Members were rewarded with the best spots, while those that followed the rules had trouble finding a spot at all. It didn't seem fair.
There are large areas reserved for people who payed for dining packages, but the areas for standby are much smaller and tightly packed with people. I wish disneyland had more general viewing areas, but since New Orleans Square is so small, and because so much of the space is devoted to reserved viewing, finding a spot to watch the show was impossible unless you go there about 2 hours before showtime, like I did.
I'm so glad Fantasmic! is finally back!

Tensions were high in the crowd! The group next to us almost got kicked out after a CM threatened to call security on them, 2 people in their group went to the restroom and a CM said he could get them removed from the park for it?? It was odd lol. Your shirt was very visible so I could see you in parts of the video haha
I've never watched Fantasmic at the park, or World of Color. I've also never seen a full fireworks show. I'm terrible at sitting/standing and waiting, waiting, waiting. It's too much. And, yeah, stressful! But I really appreciate that you waited, watched and filmed this for us! Thanks!

If you don't like waiting, maybe you can try a dining package sometime! They come with reserved viewing tickets so you can just get there right before the show and get your spot
The only way I was able to get a decent spot at 8pm on opening night was because I was by myself and was permitted to enter the standby viewing on the lower level. I went again at 6pm on Saturday and many other people were already there holding spots. I think the crowds should begin to taper off once the novelty wears off and the grad nights end. Great vlog!

Glad you got a spot! I let some people squeeze in at 8pm too, I tried to make as much room as possible, and we got 3 more strangers in there to watch the show, we were like sardines, though 😂

I was there Saturday night as well as Friday and Saturday was nowhere near as crazy as Friday. It will get back to normal very quickly.
