I think you hit the nail on the head, most collectors are not as savvy as they think they are and get it wrong in terms of scale and how certain designs are to be utilized within certain collections. Great point, great review! Thank you for taking the time.

he didn't say it's bad, he said it doesn't fit that well with a Mp collection because of it, which is true, and it's Mp scale so it's a legitimate complaint

Happy I bought it. Good look-over.

This is a beautiful piece. Exactly what I want a "Masterpiece" Overlord to look like. The decals and colour make it too good looking to be displayed among my other masterpiece figures.

Recently got this guy used with the IDW upgrade kit. He looks great. He indeed has a toy vibe, but that's part of the charm. He makes a great display piece with other somewhat toy deco figures (the BC Collector's Edition Insecticons in my case). The biggest issue I have is finding a place to display him (due to his size). I have to have him in a sort of kneeling position on my shelf but he still looks good. Thankfully, he is so well-articulated that kneeling/crouching is no problem. He is also super stable when posed that way.

I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and love him from the top of his antennae to the bottom of his disproportionately small feet

Awesome figure. Don’t know that much about the character but Still want to Purchase him soon.

Aside from that “shield “ on his left arm this guy is sick 🔥🔥🔥

Just an FYI. The turret is the part that turn where the barrel of the cannon connects to. ;) Great figure and great review.

Damn, Fans Hobby is one hell of an underrated company. They've yet to make a bad figure. Really loving Double Evil.

I like the weapon holding slider on the hands better than the MP tab-in ports.

I appreciate your fair reviews on stuff you aren't interested in. I personally like the plastic they use. Fanshobby is going after characters that aren't chosen slam dunk hits. I think their products are priced relatively low for what you get which makes them kind of a why not purchas. I'm ok with fanshobby taking liberties and using cheaper but still quality plastic on characters I don't care about.

A big plus for me is all of the accessory storage.

I was ready to deride this as another 'masterpiecification-by-numbers' from this company but actually I think it's really interesting - smart use of parts and I find the sculpt to be brave (in the sense that, with the godmasters not resembling Giga and Mega and the IDW-ish face sculpt, it is a very western Overlord when I would have expected it would be made to cater for, and hence attract purchases from, the Japanese Masterforce fans, too). I like the ab crunch system and I also like the hints of Starcom in the jet sculpt.

Looks solid.

“Tuck your turret in” crap is my fly down again?

If i didn't already have mmc's id be down for this, but I don't have the strength of connection to the character to need it to be totally faithful and accurate, in fact its only the idw one I really have any experience of. He sits with my mp's and fulfills the role I need of him, which is really all that matters. Can't deny this looks good tho.

Looks really nice, I'm just not a fan of the oversized kibble (I know OL has those parts, but FH made them huge) and undersized gun.

My issues with this is the feet are to narrow which makes it a little unstable. Also the shin flaps do not tab in properly on mine. Over all I am happy but it isn’t perfect

It looks great in videos and pics, but yeah, if the plastic is more of a toy version I don't know if I'll pick up the re-release. I like him from the IDW stuff and wouldn't mind having a representation of him but I don't need him.

Wow the stress marks on the feet transformation. Did it break yet? or is it waiting for a slight breeze? Either that or the lights are at just the right angle to give that effect

Robert DiGianni MMC Carnifex was teased at TFcon Charlotte not Double Evil, and Hoodlum was teased at least four years ago.

I got mine at tf con in Toronto it is amazing the articulation is fantastic and the ingenuity the two little robots are nice the coloring on him is great the head sculpt is fantastic so a realy good transformer the feet are small and the gun is smaller than i thought it would be i cant give it a 10/10 all though the positives out way the negatives he is intimidating and better then Megatron in my opinion overlord is no pushover if he came to earth in the movies he would destroy Megatron because overlord doesn't take orders if Megatron even said something to him like a dise he would just go all out on him and make sure that he has megatrons spark in his hands and crush it he is death in transformer form may primus have mercy on megatrons spark lol 😜

Mmc version still holds to me as the best version.

Great review fellow collector. Not feeling this version of Overlord....looks more on par with what Hasbro would release under Power of the Primes opposed to Takara Masterpiece. Sticking with MMC Overlord.

Nice review ..you uh .. mentioned that Gigatron's two God Masters were "fellas" ... In fact, that is a false statement, Giga, and Mega was husband and wife, they were not both male characters. Just FYI for future reference. Hahaha. If you follow the original continuity, not the other lesser continuities. I might add the last bit was sarcasm, intention gets lost in text.

@@chancylvania i only love the g1 cartoon and the marvel comic from the same era. When the cartoon went japanese only, sure, the characters i loved were partly still there and the animation style was still the same but the stories and dialogue were sooo bad! They turned it into a cringey animé imo. And i missed the american voice cast. So I went to enjoy other things after season 4.

Good point. No matter how great the toy is, if you have no attachment to it (ie didn't watch it in cartoons growing up), the desire to buy is just not there.

But is it better than MMC Carnifex? Perhaps a battle in the future?

Really no point bc Carnifex is more of a chug while this is an MP. As for Aesthetics, it's really on what you like more. No need to get an approval from anyone,if you like it get it lol. That's all that should matter.

He scales with power baser but neither of them are proper mp scale which is annoying seeing as they are the only company that seems to intend on completing the cast.

I don't much care for the aesthetic, mostly due to the colours. I'd like to see a less pastel recolour, as I don't give a damn about toon accuracy.
