"The Queen That Never Was" is exactly what Rhaenys did in this episode. Showing that she could end this right now or you could choose to condemn the kingdom into war. But she knew it wasn't her fight to start so yeah she is the The Queen That Never Was.

She also wants them to suffer for what they did. She has nothing to loose now. Instead of ending it all in a fire breath, she prefers to let them kill each others to take her revenge.

The wait for season 2 is going to be painful. Of course Otto and the snakes had all this planned. Plus alicent getting the prophecy wrong.

Or how the average viewer easily mistakes spectacle for good writing. Don't be fooled, the writing in this show is barely a step above Rings of Power and nowhere near on par with GoT s1-4. The actors are carrying the heck out of the subpar scripts they've been given, which is a testament to their talents, not the quality of the production.

It Was Literally The worst scene in the show yet on Par with D&D Season 8 level writing . When non of that shit happened in the Books.The Coronation Should have been just Aegon getting Crowned and Riding his Dragon Sunfyre

The actress is great, but her scene at the coronation pretty much ruined the episode, imo. It's dumb and fanservic-y and ultimately added nothing to the plot.

Aegon, Second of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of Westeros etc., hiding behind his mommy when a dragon shows up at his coronation...Love it. Especially when we know that Alicent is afraid of dragons, you have to admire her courage putting her body between her worthless son and Meleys' huge mouth.

"I love when a prophecy comes true" She sounds relatively happy, and I can understand that immediately

Not really. Dougal, his character in Outlander, murdered a wounded prisoner and did a few other shady things. But in some respects he was honorable. Great actor with wonderful screen presence.

I like how conflicted they make us by showing how wrong and bad both sides are. The writers want us to choose because in the books it’s not like that.

No, it's just lazy writing. Nasty repercussions? Like what? And from who? Daemon kills his lady and helped rhaenyra "kill" laenor by faking his death,both actions which drew suspicions,what was the repercussions? Nothing,all we got was a time jump Criston killed someone at a the royal wedding,disrupting the peace and then kills a member of the high council,what happens to him? Nothing. Viserys recognizes Otto's ambition and fires him for his machinations........only to rehire him years later,WHY? JUST FUCKING WHY? Rhaenys is valaryon and targaryen,2 of the most powerful houses in westeros,and she has a dragon, killing the usurpers would put daemon and rhaenyra (right heir) in her good graces,who the fuck would question them and not get fucked? This show pushed the idea that the "realm" wouldn't take rhaenyra as queen yet only the hightowers are shown to oppose her.

Tyland is saying that the plan to install Aegon in place of Rhaenyra has been in the works for some time, most likely since Otto was reinstated as Hand. Lord Beesbury is saying that Viserys was alive the night before at dinner, and this morning (about 2 or 3am) the King is dead. Because of the way this video is edited,we don't hear Lord Beesbury's broad accusations of regicide.

Alicent is the most powerful queen in Westeros. Now her husband is gone and her son has been crowned the successor. Rhaenyra will now hate Alicent for that.

@@pamoweiberezi5315 If Rhaenys killed the people in the Sept above the Dragonpit, the Faith would take action against House Velaryon and the rest of the Blacks for having murdered the High Septon as well as various priests and the innocent Queen Helaena and (to them) Dowager Queen Alicent. The Faith could muster support and make things very difficult for Rhaenyra and Rhaenys/Corlys. Also, Aegon's young children are still alive; and (depending on if the show is making use of him) a very viable Prince Daeron, Alicent and Viserys' Hightower-fostered third son (who is a good fighter and dragon rider). The winner of the resulting mess would probably whoever could find a "Dragonseed" who could claim Vhagar and Sunfyre after their riders' death, unless Vhagar does not want another rider anytime soon...

Am I the only one that thinks Cole killed Beesbury by accident? He wouldn't have said "sit down" if he meant to kill him.

Argon through Aemond are fire resistant by their Valyrian blood. Alicent and Otto are Hightowers, with no Valyrian blood.

And the thing is it's not even Rhaenyra's son, Aegon, that King Viserys is talking about either. The bloodline will start with her son Viserys.

Compared to how it's described in the book, Aegon the Conqueror's crown looks so dull and cheap...

Detail I just noticed: The Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, when he takes his cloak off at 3:03, he can just pull it and it snaps off. So their cloaks aren't as big of liabilities as you'd think it combat -- anyone tries to grab it and it'll just pop off. Nice touch by the costume designers!

This was actually one of the weakest episodes for me. Except for Rhaenys rolling up on her dragon like the boss she is!

@@AuntieL_ATL Not really their choice, more like the manipulative writing and editing of the show. Notice how the Greens always get scenes in dark lighting with ominous music even in situations that would otherwise make the viewers sympathetic. It's the oldest trick in the book.
