Fanimation Slinger V2 Indoor Outdoor Ceiling Fan with LED. 72 inch.

My review of the Fanimation Slinger V2 Indoor Outdoor Ceiling Fan with LED. 72 inch. I have installed it in a damp location, my back porch. I bought this in Lowe's, for $300. The Lowe's item number is 795392. It's fairly easy to install, and produces a decent amount of air. It looks really modern in its matte black finish. The remote control can be wall mounted. It took me around 90 minutes to install it.

    Hi Scott. Thanks for this. As I was starting to install this in my home I notice a tiny little cotter pin INSIDE the downrod support hole that seems to be preventing me from screwing the downrod in all the way. I have to keep the downrod a little loose to line up the clevis pin. Seems odd to me that that little pin is in there. Not sure what it's purpose would be. I can email you a closeup photo to make it more clear what I am describing. Did yours have that little pin as well? Did you remove it? Nothing about it in any of the instructions. Thanks for any wisdom.

    The Slinger V2 had a 6-speed motor but there was a running change to this fan around the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020. The fan now has a variable speed motor that has 16 different speeds to it.

    Yeah that's true, there are many levels you can set it at. It's not really obvious though since the remote doesn't clearly indicate all those different levels

    I put up this fan about a year ago. I have it in a 9x9 bedroom. It almost covers the whole room 😂 I love it. Only horrible thing is keeping batteries in the remote.

    Are their better programmable remote wall mount units vs the crap they have for this kind of fan?? If anyone knows about programmable wall controls that work I would be interested to know about them!

    Do you know the location on the ceiling fan to select/sync The fan/remote. From what I’ve seen it’s just like setting a garage door opener.

    You only need to adjust the setting on the remote, not on the fan. Download the instruction manual for details! Good luck

    Rod length maters depending on the height of the ceiling each fan has a recommended length for example a 10ft ceiling will require a 1 ft drop rod I would just go the next size up like 14-18 inches you will feel a bigger difference

    Thank you so much for your advice, I decided to go with a 72in fan. I went with the Home Depot version of this though (Kensgrove 72). Same price same size just liked the look a little more

    Hello. Since you have installed one of these fairly recently I thought I would ask for some insight. I just bought one and am starting to install it. As I was starting to install this in my home I noticed a tiny little cotter pin INSIDE the downrod support hole that seems to be preventing me from screwing the downrod in all the way. I have to keep the downrod a little loose to line up the clevis pin. Seems odd to me that that little pin is in there. Not sure what it's purpose would be. I can email you a closeup photo to make it more clear what I am describing. Just wondering, did yours have that little pin INSIDE the downrod support hole as well? Did you remove it? Nothing about it in any of the instructions. Thanks for any wisdom.

    I would not have purchased this fan had I known it did not have a pull chain. If the remote dies, you’re dead in the water.

  • @ScottAllison

    @ScottAllison

    I don't think any fans with remotes also have a pull chain. In many fans the remote receiver unit is replaceable, so in the unlikely event of it failing you wouldn't have to replace the whole fan.
