Sehr wertvoller Beitrag.

The gentleman who does the narration in Yiddish makes several mistakes, mainly in pronunciation [influenced by German], but also in sentence structure. These mistakes can be listed very easily and should, of course, be corrected. Fania's Yiddish is authentic and correct.

I'm not sure if Miša Jakobas Yiddish is influenced by German as he is a teacher from Telšiai and now the principal of Vilnius Sholom Aleichem school. But of course, I don't know how and when he learned Yiddish as I don't speak it. Would be interesting to know if his Yiddish is just another dialect or if he learned it "wrongly". But anyway I think it's brilliant that people still speak Yiddish whether or not it's considered as perfect by others.

Yes even though there are no Jews left in Lithuania. You dont need Jews to have a rabidly antisemetic county.. Easy scapegoat for the foils in the locals.

someone A minority in Vilnius, perhaps, the situation in the countryside and smaller towns is worse. You won't get beaten up in the street, but anti-semitism holds strong.
