@@sisklslsl Yes, but there are parts of the ocean that are bright and colorful in real life. I was expecting more from the movie and I was severely disappointed. I apologize for having preferences and opinions. Also, they took out parts of Poor Unfortunate Souls because some lines were “degrading” toward women. I’ve never met anyone who listens to the villains in a children’s movie (even children). They also took away Vanessa’s song, which is iconic, and replaced it with Scuttlebutt. Disney would’ve done better using the Hans Christian Anderson version because of how depressing they made the background. I didn’t enjoy the movie at all and I’m disappointed in the remake. I wanted nostalgia but I got a half assed job from Disney not being creative. Halle Bailey is an amazing actress and singer and I love that she played my childhood idol. I ADORE Daveed Diggs because I was a theatre kid in middle/high school so I adore Hamilton. I don’t dislike the actors, I dislike what they did with the movie.

@@jupito3 theres a few reasons i dont like it. 1 they could have made something original with barely any effort like it could have been a new mermaid from the caribian with a pirate prince. instead they just repurposed the original and just changed arial to be black and also changed how flounder looks. from chubby and cuddly they make him skinny and ugly.

also all the other characters are white. or even less effort they could have just made her titans new younger daughter. also ariel is supposed to be around 17 so having a 30 something looking playing her definitely took away from the experience. there were also scenes where the CGI was literal shit college students could have done better. it was in the end using the name and that arial is black for a quick cash crab.

I just wanna say something real quick. The fact that disney raceswapped Ariel never sat right with me. And the fact that so many people take other media characters and do the same and say its bad, but people look at the movie disney did and say: Yes. This is good. It reeks of hypocrisy. Im not here to say the movie is bad, i just don't think you should blackwash a character in order to be more "inclusive". If disney really wanted to be more inclusive, tbey coild actually start changing the way they're bigoted twords poc and LGBTQ+ people and even add them into new films.
